its a strange concept to pay for but i see why as the show costs money to make, but its promo too and usually fans arent charged for that, maybe a tenner would have been enough but im sure it will still sell really well and it will be a few pound for both kylie and the label.

I can't get over this, I feel like a bit of Karen but let's face it Kylie has a very dedicated fanbase, one's who purchase all the Vinyls, bundles, special editions etc...

To charge for a 50 minute online show and at a cost of £16 is such a kick in the teeth and quite frankly an insult to these fans (it's not even live so she can interact with fans etc).

She should be promoting this as a thank you for her fans after all these years...

Such a poor management decision, if they were going to charge at least make it reasonable given the current pandemic, a token payment.

I wouldn't go that far - at the end of the day if fans don't want to pay for it (like me), they won't. The label will react accordingly. Supply and demand etc.

Why should it be free? It’s a virtual streaming concert, which is in lieu of an arena concert. This is a new way for an artist (and everyone else involved in creating live shows) to make money. The ticket price contributes towards the costs of producing this concert (think of the lighting, the screens, costumes etc), as well as aiming to make a profit out of it (this is the music business). Part of the cost is also the exclusivity of getting to watch the concert at the specific times that it’s being streamed.

If anyone thinks it’s too much money, that’s fine, you’re not being forced into buying a ticket after all. It’s hardly disgusting though. £14 is a fraction of the cost it would usually cost to see Kylie - and of course that major reduction in price goes hand in hand with this being an altogether different experience to an in-person live show.

Back in the day, Sky would have a “Box Office” viewing experience - pay-to-view concerts on the TV. For instance Spice Girls in 1998 - it cost £9.95 (early booking) or £12.95 to watch the show.

Why would it be free? The live music industry is nearly non-existent right now because of COVID. This means dancers, band members and so many other people that work behind the scenes to make a show come to life. Many of these people will be involved in setting up a livestream show, too (not all, but some). In a time that's difficult enough as it is, why should their work not be worth any money? £14 is a really fair amount, too, considering we're getting a mini concert from Kylie, and her tours cost way more than that before you even factor in your potential travel + accommodation costs.

Let's put it into perspective guys!

Understand why some are surprised it’s not free but just bought a ticket....hopefully something different than the usual ‘live show’ or TV promo.

It’s not a ridiculous sum of money, I guess it avoids ads too.

Personally I would have done a buy the album and get a ticket for £10 offer no matter what time frame.

I doubt it has hardly got any extra UK pre orders to be honest. Maybe 50-100 only if that.

It will of course get some promo attention and something else to promote in the next few weeks

Still don't agree a Cinema film (like Little Mix) fair enough...A at home 50 minute concert on a laptop or TV for £16 NO.

Also, once you've watched it that's it GONE.

Totally get it's business but its sour on the fans.

You may as well go to your local cinema and approach them with this argument.

I genuinely don’t understand why anyone thinks this should be free.

The golden album launch show wasn’t free, why should this ?

The only difference if that we are all lucky enough to see this time.

Many acts are doing it and so they should, these things cost money and we get to see her perform her new album so of course you should pay.

People are going on like it’s £200 😂😂😂

And how much money do you think it's costing to put on? It's not just Kylie recording an acapella set on her iPhone and livestreaming it on Instagram. There are other people involved and they need to be paid for their work, especially as they won't have had much work since COVID took hold. £14 really isn't much at all for the quality of show Kylie will be putting on.

Ultimately we pay upwards of £70 for Kylie concert tickets and we can't rewatch that either (unless we want the DVD that comes out months later and costs extra money). And we'd actually have to spend even more to travel to those. I don't see how a £14 livestream is sour at all.

Clearly can't have an opinion...

I'm allowed to think it's disgusting along with others that think the same online everywhere.

I'm not saying it should be free necessarily, although I think given covid it's a nice gesture BUT the cost is extortionate IN MY OPINION for a non live performance.

£16 for a cinema showing I'm fine with, that's a night out and an experience..

Sat at home on the sofa staring at a laptop or TV for £16 no thanks.

You can and do have the right to an opinion, just as everyone else does.

Disgusting? LOL, overreacting much. You do realise every artists who does this is charging money right? Roisin, Mel C. The live music industry is one of the hardest hit industries at the moment, so we should all do our bit to help survive it (if we can ofcourse). It's not like Kylie will be by herself in her house, we are expecting a production which gives employment to quite some people. Even Mel had like 15 people around, giving them a job and earn some money during these times, and I am very sure Kylie will have a much bigger production.

Kylie will provide an entertaining night-in & a unique/one-off experience. I personally consider £14 to be extremely worth it for an artist of her caliber and I’m happy to support it.

We have no idea when we’ll be able to go to an actual concert again, so I’m happy that artists are trying to adapt and carry on entertaining us. This is the next best thing.

I’m not saying people don’t have the right to feel that something is too expensive for them to be able to justify, that is fair enough. No one is forced to spend money on it though. If it’s not worth it to you, ok.
