omg im happy that someone else is finally watching this but ur the only one who will play chess with me so ur gonna get too powerful :pting:

i’ve seen nothing but praise so it’s going on my list

i’ll report back in two years

I watched this 2 weeks ago and forgot to mention it :pting:

Considering I don't know the rules of Chess (well, I used to 20 years ago... but I've completely forgotten  ) this was surprisingly gripping and absorbing! Outside of the chess games, I enjoyed the coming-of-age element to the storyline and rooted for Beth to triumph, not just in chess, but with her life after having a difficult upbringing.

This was a period drama done really well - I appreciated how much effort must have gone into making every shot throughout this season look authentically 60s. Some of the outfits were so glamourous. It was a visual treat!

 Definitely one of the best shows of 2020.

enough people have told me to start watching this so I added it to my list a couple weeks ago with my usual intention of I'll probs not watch it cos I barely watch TV shows...

anyway I've started it last night and I'm obsessed

Oh we watched this last weekend and it's great. The performances by pretty much the whole cast are great but Anya Taylor-Joy is just so compelling in the lead role... my favourite character since Killing Eve first aired.

Yes, I finished this on Friday and loved it from start to finish.

And how quick things escalated when she went full alcoholic and that eye make up was quite something!!!

Oh and never knew 'Venus' wasn't Bananarama original!!!

Anybody else feel super emotional during Beth's last game? :cheeseblock:

The whole series was so surprisingly captivating. It was a pleasure to watch.

ugh this was perfection :cheeseblock:

Everything was so amazing. the acting, the direction, the script, the costumes, whew. Easily one of the best TV shows I've seen in a long long time.

and can we talk more about Anya Taylor-Joy SLAYING this :cheeseblock: I've been stanning her for a few years now but she blew me away during this, one of the best performances I've seen in a long long time!! And every time I thought she couldn't get better, episode 6 & 7 whew she was perfect *.* ready for her to properly break-out now and surely she's a golden globe/emmy winning contender for this *.*

Oh and never knew 'Venus' wasn't Bananarama original!!!

Same!!!!!!!!! I was shook when that came on, that scene was so good & I always thought Bananarama's was an original aha *.* And now I've been listening to the original so much since watching!

Anybody else feel super emotional during Beth's last game? :cheeseblock:

When Venus came on haha I was like whut what huh!?!?

A great series I really enjoyed it best thing I've watched in a while!

Watched this over 2 evenings and I loved it. Not just about Chess after all and I'm so glad I watched it before it goes.
