The production team on “Prisoner” are all male, I wish more female producers - and there have been some fantastic new ones like TSHA and Jayda G this year - were getting some mainstream success. I don't think you could say that music was a level playing field AT ALL.

Not surprised that Ava Max is flopping, the song is like D standard compared to her best.

Ava's songs always take time, its best shot at being a hit is probably after Christmas at this point

well Monster is at #1 on Apple's Today's Top Hits playlist while Prisoner is #20.... so it would be ridiculous if it wasn't higher....

 

Monster is #9 on Apple ... while Prisoner despite being low on the playlist is #15 on the chart.

Personally I'm pleased to see both Monster and Prisoner doing well! They're both really good songs and it'd be brilliant to see two huge name collabs debuting top 10 this coming week.

That Ava song was just quietly added as a bonus track on her album wasn't it? Not surprised at all at it not entering on its first day. If it is one that'll be a hit it'll probably be months from now, her charting songs have all taken a while to climb.

 

Snubbed from Dan's top 200 update but stanning the fact that there is a top 200 entry today titled 'Basil Brush' (from Loski & OFB at #186). Some interesting song titles all over the board this week, from RAYE naming a song 'Regardless' after getting her biggest hit for a while with a Regard collaboration to a song named after one of the ~3 famous people from my home town of Reading ('Kate Winslet'), represent xx

 

Also nice to see slowthai getting another top 200 entrant, seems to be becoming more consistent. Probably won't make the overall top 100 like 'feel away' did but we'll see I guess.
