November 9, 20205 yr Exciting to have such a close race in the albums chart this week. Rooting for Kylie for the chart stats + the fact her singles/teaser tracks have been miles better than Little Mix's for me (I don't plan to listen to either of the albums x). Would be good if 'Say Something' can get a new peak as well! Also nice to see Ólafur Arnalds hopefully in the running for a top 40 album after his last album got to #48! (and loling a bit at Dutchavelli being sandwiched between Aled Jones and some classical thing) This thread tho

November 9, 20205 yr You’re not wrong though, amongst all of this LM vs Kylie drama, the sales that both of them are managing on a MONDAY given the sales climate is at a real low, is super impressive and a testament to two great artists with two great eras supported by two great fan bases.

A little bit for sure, but I don't think it would have made a huge amount of difference. Most physical buyers will be buying off the websites. Yeah, they'd both have picked up a few extra casual purchases but supermarkets are still open which is where most people buy physical albums these days.

The LM vinyl is out of stock too so the benefit would go to Kylie of course both have CDs etc too on there. HMV have an offer of buy the vinyl and get the CD for £5, not sure that will add many sales though tbh?
November 10, 20205 yr The £5 CD offer has been going for a couple of days now. I think the signed Kylie CD’s dispatching today will swing it easily. Plus I’m sure they have another trick they’ll pull out Thursday.
