Yes that price reduction is just normalised now, bought the Steps CD as a Christmas gift for £9.99 and it’s galling they reduced it to its low price so quickly....I’ve said it previously these reductions have irreparably damaged the physical market. £5 to own an album is ridiculous...we were paying more in the 80s.

Damage was done late 90s/ early 00s.

Totally this! It’s the norm now and I see different fanbase’s complain about it week after week in the fact that they’ve spent xx amount on pre-ordering it then a few days later it’s slashed to held price, signed bundles etc., in a battle for a chart position, all this will lead to the market declining even quicker as fans will get wise to just waiting a day or two before buying.

People now expect albums to be £5 so it doesn’t create the sales uplift it once used to.

Don't think lockdown has helped.

Albums discounted in a sale is good but now we are into week 5 of the sales.....

+ Not much promo at the moment so the only promo they are getting is price promo.

Down to 28 on Amazon sign it's going to have a fight on its hands this week chart wise.

Can it stay top 75?

Up to 70 on Apple Music which is best I've seen or a while.

Kylie on Spotify has gone from 21,000,000 monthly listeners to 9,800,000 in a few days after Santa Baby Xmas plays come off.

I agree about the price reduction, it's annoying to go out and pay full price on release week for example and only a short time later you see it reduced by half the price it takes away the value. With artists like kylie I buy asap but for other albums I must admit I do hold out for the reduced price, gary barlows recent album is an example of this, I want it more for collection purposes as I dont really like the direction he took on this album so I'm waiting for low price but prior to this release I would have bought his album asap at full whack.

Disco streaming number 100 in China on Apple Music.

Not sure how many Chinese have Apple Music but still

The #4 album has only shifted 1,631 so far this week - I’m sure there is minimal between the lower end of the charts.
I hope it holds on, but with sales as low as 1600 for number 4, sales of 200 could really turn a position around this week.
Honestly I think they are just giving up until things are better in the UK.

I mean I’m happy with what Disco has done so anything else is a bonus but they could do something for no cost which would have an impact - just advertising the fact that the CD is £4.99 at HMV and Amazon across all her social media would give it a boost.

I didnt expect the 11 place drop today, i would have liked a 12th week top 75 but its looking very unlikely now, still it will remain Top 100 which is something and should get another 1k sales.

I think they will release a new edition and hence just waiting and collecting sales of this album.

I could be totally wrong but that's what I think. I think Disco suits a spring/summer promo push rather than winter

Yesterday it was only the 126th best seller of the day, which isn't a good indication for how well it'll hold up over the next few days. In fact it's currently forecasted to finish at #118. Hopefully it won't be that drastic, but, eek. The 17 albums directly behind her in the midweeks all sold more yesterday (of course it's mostly streaming).
