UK Chart Run: 27-7-2-1-1-1-2-4-10-14-25-31-43-66 (14 weeks)

Next out is the dire single from Color Me Badd, thank the buzzjack gods for that. Back in 1991 it was all risqué to say sex and I think that's pretty much the only reason why this did as well as it did.

Review by PCF...

"Back in 1991 things had changed - it had only been 4 years since George Michael was banned for singing "I want your sex", and now this hideously daring boyband managed to sneak some boyband r'n'b past the censors for a seemingly-risky chart-topper. Take out the title though and it's an OK doo-wop-wannabee spruced-up inoffensive pop song. I take it to mean "I want you to look like Olivia's transformation in Grease so I look better by association" but I could be wrong. Of course, these days, as pop stars graphically rap about intimate parts and what they want shoved up them, it all seems so mild. For the record, I like this one, though the video is laughably 1991 in fashion-sense (and let me clear, during the 90's I firmly believed the 90's had no style as far as men's clothes went) :P "

So, again, who's out next?

Didn't recall Vic's and never heard of Oceanic before so just listened to them both and they are both ok but nothing special. However I'm going for 'I'm Too Sexy' for this round as I prefer 'Deeply Dippy' from them and It's stayed in too long now.

I will come out and see that I really don't think this list is that bad  Couple of them are guilty pleasures, but still, I had never heard of that Oceanic song but it's sounding really good :o

Dizzy is my least fave here~

Just made it a tie by voting for Jason Donovan, sorry

edit: although I guess this will probably still be open a while longer anyway

Voted Dizzy to try to save my faves.

looking like Dizzy is on it's way out, sadly. So this is either the blurb for the next round, or an argument to vote for others, whichever works

"Comedian Vic Reeves, and comedy partner-in-crime Bob Mortimer, had an alter-ego as The Pub Singer mocking a certain style of singing, but had scored an unlikely hit with a cover of Born Free when he paired up Indie band The Wonder Stuff to cover the 1969 UK/US chart-topper Dizzy, a comeback gem of a bubblegum hit from 60's hitmaker Tommy Roe. I'm very biased. Tommy Roe's Dizzy was the first single I ever bought with my own money - given to me by my great-grandparents as we headed off to Singapore for 2 years. I bought it on Changi evening market in late 1969, so it's a special record for me. Not to mention Bass-o-matic who used the rhythm sample on the brilliant Fascinating Rhythm in 1990 (aka William Orbit, 90's hitmaker galore). As a Vic & Bob fan I had mixed feelings on this cover - it was great to see Dizzy getting discovered by a new generation, it was a decent indiepop tongue-in-cheek romp, and I loved that it topped the chart, but it didn't quite have the charm of the original for me. Hey ho, I got to see Tommy Roe on tour as a result of the resurgence, and also Vic & Bob, who's comic Big Night Out had a mini-concert at the end. So, I got to see Dizzy in both versions. Result!"
