What is the worst penalty you've seen taken in football? Is there a particular penalty that you will always remember?

I immediately thought of the one taken by a Fulham player earlier today, it was awful.

There have been far, far worse  Lookman's was way worse 2 weeks ago. Zaza's is also horrible. My favourite worst penalty miss is Charlie Adam vs Cardiff in the 2012 League Cup final.

Yes so did I, it was pretty bad from Cavaliero.

Robert Pires against Manchester City would be my suggestion.

This i remember particularly from Nick Hancock's Football Nightmares.

Has to be Devine there doesn't it, to not even reach the 6-yard line is a special kind of abysmal

Celina's from last season immediately sprang to mind.

This has to be up there too. Not only not he failed with the fake, he gets booked as well!

Some pretty bad ones in this thread! Can't say I've seen any *awful* penalties that spring to mind but probably a good job given how much I'd cringe at them if I did.

I can only think perhaps Beckham was trying to mimic Johnny Wilkinson during that time.

Bruno Fernandes today. Where did that ball go?

The Gary Lineker one vs Brazil, always looks bad when it doesn’t come of!

So far this season:

Very apt timing to bump this thread with Zaha's cracker tonight
