I'm estimating that Mariah could end up about 1,100 behind Ariana tomorrow :( Maybe 39.4k for Ariana vs. 38.3k for Mariah.

So unless Mariah's UK fans go crazy with downloading over the next 6 hours, it's not looking like this week will be Mariah's week, unfortunately! It might be better for fans to hold off downloading until next week...

Up 6k from last years equilivant week?

YouTube hasn't submitted streams for 2 days, I wonder how much Mariah is behind after that is added?

As of yesterday with December 1st missing.

#1 - Ariana Grande

24,355 Sales

23,703 Streaming [22,237 Premium Audio | 709 Ad-Funded Audio | 757 Video]

652 Pure [651 Downloads | 1 CD]

#2 - Mariah Carey

22,568 Sales

21,095 Streaming (ACR applied) [19,743 Premium Audio | 556 Ad-Funded Audio | 796 Video]

1,473 Pure [1,473 Downloads]

The week before she was given 891 and ranked 3rd on the video chart while Ariana was 10.

It has the benefit of now huge surprise releases today to hold it off next week
Mariah still the biggest song in the country this week

Can't be. The No.1 is the biggest song of the week. She's not even been midweek No.1 yet this year.

^guess they mean if you don't consider ACR

I love the fact that 1 person in the country has located and purchased a Positions CD this week. I wonder if they realise how special they are.

I know I would have purchased it if I’d seen it as it would be rare!
Maybe it won't be #1 next week now but I think it's last realistic shot is the 18th as Ladbaby if he is indeed releasing will get the 25th (and if not then Mariah could be that week but I'm not as sure on that one) and the exclusives have dropped off compared to the earlier midweeks.

Mariah's new Christmas song could split the vote and deny All I Want... that long awaited number 1.
It seems a shoe-in to me next week unless there's an unexpected new release. It won't double its streams like this week but it will still increase now it's properly December, and it barely needs to increase at all to get #1 as Positions is falling. True it won't have the benefit of the extra streams on the 1st this week but the 2nd and the 3rd have already been way up on the last few weekdays of November on Spotify.

Today's Spotify update is looking very good for Mariah's chances this week;

847,643 (ACR value 423,822) vs. Positions on 328,238

i hope that it gets to number 1 this week. The streams are so high - it has to be number 1.

I think it'll be #1 but not Christmas #1 which will be Ladbaby or Justin Bieber I think.

I do think this year will be it's last chance. I know everyone seemingly gets annoyed by these comments but I kind of doubt they will continue with the same rules for old Xmas songs next year, I could be wrong though!

I am also expecting another rule change to come sooner rather than later to counter the Christmas domination we are seeing now, so hoping Mariah gets it before they remove the possibility of it happening in the future.
