I noticed Apple Music have added Christmas songs to their Today’s Hits playlist. Something they haven’t done in previous years I don’t think. So people not really seeking out Christmas songs and just listening to current hits will end up listening to the likes of Mariah, The Pogues and Wham. So obviously will help their streams.

 

I seen that too actually, strange they don’t put the newer Xmas releases to give them a chance! The only one is Giveon and his version of O Christmas Tree!

Which Spotify Christmas Playlist seems most influential on U.K. Spotify this year?

^people say Christmas Hits

their top 5 is the big 5 in the charts (Mariah, Wham, Ariana, Brenda Lee, Buble) so that makes sense

but they have a lot of new-ish songs pretty high on the playlist (Taylor, Ava Max, Jonas Bros), with very little effect so far

so either people only stream the first songs or they skip the new songs
