And no surprise 800 cases are linked to test and trace system failing in April.
Vaccinations now open to 25-29 year olds in Northern Ireland, which will mean that by next week all my family will firmly be on the road to full protection.

Fingers crossed we reach this age group soon in England too (for entirely selfish reasons of course) 🤞🏽

Glasgow now the only area in the country to be under restrictions as ScotGov release Moray & don't put East Ren in despite higher case rates than Glasgow :')

Following the science clearly...

17 cases in East Ren. 17. that’s what put it’s number above Glasgow. They’re also all linked to a cluster of household spreads. Glasgow is diffuse community transmission, East Ren isn’t. There’s fundamentally different factors at play driving cases rates in both regions. That *also* has to be taken into account.

Sturgeon and the BBC both clearly explained the reasoning and it was clear that the 7 day rate is not the thing that drives the levels, it’s just *one* factor that does. Regardless, as of today’s data Glasgow is higher than East Ren, who’s rate actually fell slightly today.

Anyway. If you’re over 30 in Scotland and haven’t yet got your vaccine appt you can go here: https://invitations.vacs.nhs.scot/ and it’ll all get sorted. My friends have all done this since this morning and now have their first doses scheduled!

Le sigh.

Now we know at least one of the country’s That had cold feet about white listing the UK on the EU list and caused the decision to be pushed back a fortnight.

Spain clearly in the opposite camp. Throwing open the doors, sans testing, to the UK.

Clearly tourism lobbying going on in those decisions regarding Spain!

Jabs now available for everyone 30 and above in England!

I think Wales had something like 14 cases yesterday, I know they're well ahead of England, Scotland and NI in the vaccine rollout but it does look good that the vaccines work against the other variants, although admittedly the protection is a little lower.

Berlin has dropped under 40 in the 7 day rate for the first time since October 2020. federally were below 50 as well.

Vaccine rates really starting to kick in here. 40.4% of the whole population has had at least 1 dose. Dunno how that works out on the adult population because germany aren’t releasing that particular statistic which makes cross-border comparison a little tricky.

But the signs are good. I’m hoping Germany will soon be green listed for the UK and the UK get the variant spread under control fast so you drop off our blacklist and then finally I can go home and people can visit me!

Had my first shot (Moderna) the other day. So less than 6 weeks until shot 2 and less than 8 until I’m fully vaxxed. Can’t wait

I got my NHS Scotland letter today with an appt for next week! Good to know that my back up plan of „if Germany doesn’t get its shit together I’m flying home“ would actually have worked!

Has been properly cancelled now to ensure the dose doesn’t go to waste

I wish more people would have the courtesy to cancel appointments they don't need.

And Northern Ireland has now opened up to all adults over the age of 18 years. Realistically we could have all the adult population here (who will take it) getting their first dose by the end of June, then both doses by the end of September.
Melbourne and Victoria back in to lockdown for 7 days minimum.

Seeing quite a few outbreaks in places which handled the pandemic so well. It's a double edged sword for Australia, as their vaccine rollout is slow by all accounts. I suspect it might be a long winter there, although I have my fingers crossed they manage to contain this outbreak in Victoria.

I hope we maintain it to, but I have my doubts.

The problem this time I believe was hotel quarantine. It’s just so unreliable and sets us up for failure, but I’m not about to get into that.

Hopefully this end on June 4 but I’m nite sure it will.

I did some reading earlier - sounds like it could be in the community big time, but at least it is only 7 days for now until they find out how big the scale is. Fingers crossed it isn't big, but the upside is maybe this might encourage the vaccine rollout to be quicker.

Yeah you’re right it’s really out in the community now. Hopefully it’s contained relatively quickly. Yes I hope this speeds up the vaccine roll out.

Was it not confirmed on bbc today there was 26 cases? Compared to the daily rate of 2500 in the Uk still it shows the difference sun scale!
So it's now looking very likely that the 21 June final set of lifting restrictions will be postponed due to the prevalence of the Indian variant. Shame for the live music/night club industry etc but despite some very loud protestations, the General public overwhelmingly want caution in terms of lifting restrictions.
