March 28, 20223 yr The World Cup group stage draw is on Friday. It will be interesting to see who gets placed where and who will fall into the inevitable "Group of death". I'm looking forward to seeing Canada play at a World Cup.

March 29, 20223 yr Gutted for Nigeria but on the other hand it means I can watch the World Cup as more of a neutral which is the best way to enjoy tournament football. It sounds like the Senegal Vs Egypt match was almost like a carbon copy of the AFCON final from last month where Sadio Mane scored the winning penalty in the shoot out, this current Egypt team are going to have nightmares about Senegal for years to come!

They're the hosts and they are actually OK at the moment. Think they will struggle to get out of the group, but don't think they will be pushovers. That said, they're the team you'd want to draw if you were in any other pot!
March 31, 20223 yr They were the Asian champions recently so they're certainly no pushovers. Some big names in pot 2 there!
March 31, 20223 yr The host nation is automatically slotted into Group A from Pot 1. Qatar are ranked 51 by FIFA and would listed right in front of Ghana in Pot 4. They're okay, but have been scarier in recent years, though home field advantage will be a factor as it always is. Chance are great for a Group of Death if Germany doesn't get drawn into Group A with Qatar.

March 31, 20223 yr Hmmm, I would argue we are stronger than Mexico right now. We might have finished 3rd in Concacaf but were 1 win 1 draw vs. Mexico and never had close to our full squad because of injuries. Don't underestimate this American squad if fully healthy.
