Oh he was young then like and yes knew he was one of the Canadian players, remember seeing it on FM! Plus sky sports always use the national flags when doing their team sheet!

Final leg of the African qualifiers tomorrow - Morocco drew with DR Congo and Tunisia beat Mali in the first round. Really hoping for one of the lesser-spotted nations in the Finals!
The World Cup group stage draw is on Friday. It will be interesting to see who gets placed where and who will fall into the inevitable "Group of death". I'm looking forward to seeing Canada play at a World Cup.
Nice to see Ghana back after an absence in 2018 (although not having the obligatory Argentina/Nigeria group will be a little strange!) Poland currently leading Sweden and Portugal leading North Macedonia at the moment.
Senegal will be way more fun to watch than Egypt in the World Cup, but those laser pens the fans used were discraceful. Ruined the shootout completely.
Gutted for Nigeria but on the other hand it means I can watch the World Cup as more of a neutral which is the best way to enjoy tournament football. It sounds like the Senegal Vs Egypt match was almost like a carbon copy of the AFCON final from last month where Sadio Mane scored the winning penalty in the shoot out, this current Egypt team are going to have nightmares about Senegal for years to come!
The lasers undoubtedly played a huge role in Senegal‘a penalty win. Huge controversy coming I’m sure.

Absolute scenes in the last qualifier tonight as Algeria scored in the 119th minute and thought they’d won but Cameroon scored in the 120+4th minute to win on away goals and book a shock place at the World Cup.

Tonight’s qualifiers:

Cameroon

Ghana

Morocco

Poland

Portugal

Senegal

Tunisia

Pretty rubbish they won’t be there but won’t be sad to not see Carlos Querios managing them he’s a bore!

How can Qatar be in pot 1? whoever gets them in their group will be lucky, I would expect Qatar to lose all 3 of their group matches.

They're the hosts and they are actually OK at the moment. Think they will struggle to get out of the group, but don't think they will be pushovers. That said, they're the team you'd want to draw if you were in any other pot!

They were the Asian champions recently so they're certainly no pushovers. Some big names in pot 2 there!

The host nation is automatically slotted into Group A from Pot 1. Qatar are ranked 51 by FIFA and would listed right in front of Ghana in Pot 4. They're okay, but have been scarier in recent years, though home field advantage will be a factor as it always is.

Chance are great for a Group of Death if Germany doesn't get drawn into Group A with Qatar.

The last time USA got a draw, we got Portugal, Germany, and Ghana, quite possibly the toughest group ever. Hopefully the football gods smile on us a bit better.

All the teams in Pot 1 are going to want USA, think they are the weakest team in the 2nd pot.

Hmmm, I would argue we are stronger than Mexico right now. We might have finished 3rd in Concacaf but were 1 win 1 draw vs. Mexico and never had close to our full squad because of injuries. Don't underestimate this American squad if fully healthy.
