I'd take this with a massive pinch of salt, but someone on Pulse Music Boards is saying that Ed Sheeran will release a song titled "The Afterglow" on Monday...

Apparently US radio stations have been given notice of it, they say. (and they've been a trustworthy member for 10 years now)

That could explain the missing spot on the A-List on both Radio 1 and Radio 2 then?

It seems to be confirmed. Lots of places reporting it. Still seems like an illogical time to release to me. Will be interesting to see how it does first week against the Christmas stuff
I thought Ed Sheeran was still taking a break?

 indeed doesn’t seem to have went away long!

Now with Ed Sheeran thrown in the mix, a slim possibility to be the first #1 of 2021

Take 2 of this thread topic is incoming tomorrow morning after we all heard Ed Sheeran's new track :D

Unless new Ed is complete rubbish or not at all commercial, there’s no way he isn’t #1 on New Years
Ed Sheeran - unless it’s a crap song. that hardly anyone will like.

Always like a new song to start the new year and not going back to old top 10 hits!

Does it really matter if he comes back with a crap song?

cannot think of a worst song that I Don't Care, and that was #1 for 10 weeks or something
