March 6, 20214 yr I actually love it? The production is fantastic, and it’s an homage in the best way. You can just tell the album is going to be even better.
March 6, 20214 yr Author You can just tell the album is going to be even better. Yeah I definitely got this impression listening to it too! Excited to see how she explores this sound further. I think I'm going to put my 'MASSEDUCTION' vinyl on in preparation!
March 6, 20214 yr "Down And Out Downtown", which is the second track off her album, was the song included in the teaser.
March 18, 20214 yr SNL performance on April 3. Also, "The Melting of the Sun" will be out in two weeks. @1371937115341123584
March 20, 20214 yr I still can't tell whether I absolutely love this or it's a bit of a ..eh moment. Like how I felt about “New York” from the last album but then “Los Ageless” and “Fast Slow Disco” ended up being career highlights for me so maybe there is still hope- and I haven't totally written off this single yet either.
April 4, 20214 yr Absolutely! Love both of those, pay your way in pain is great still - so different to everything else around at the moment
April 7, 20214 yr Predictably this has now grown on me massively, undeniably stuck in my head all day at work today.
May 13, 20214 yr I foolishly didn't give the singles much of a chance, but this is definitely AOTY material! I became a fan through her more modern pop style music, so this was a bit of a stark reinvention to wrap my head around but once I made it past the initial "what is going on?" it massively clicked  It also helps I guess that I'm not too familiar with the mid-70's era of music, so despite it being a clear homage it doesn't sound too familiar for me at all. May 14, 20214 yr I've had this on repeat all day. Feels like a real moment for Annie! So captivating. She has such a well-realised artistic vision and this is another testament to that. The album reveals more layers with each listen. So many melodies that refuse to leave my mind, the crescendos, her voice - it all just works. Nearly every song has me screaming "!!" in my head :drama: Standouts for me are Down and Out Downtown, Live in the Dream and ...At the Holiday Party. I can take or leave the title track and Candy Darling but have a feeling they will still creep up on me
May 16, 20214 yr Just popping in to firstly give our Kath someone else to talk to but secondly to say I'm also in love with this. It's very coherent and definitely rewards multiple plays, she's just amazing in the way she can completely master a sound and change from album to album
