Biography

George Ezra’s spirited folk-pop sing-alongs could have thrived in any era, but their mix of worldly curiosity, unbridled optimism and a few playful loops and synths reflects a truly millennial ideal. Born George Ezra Barnett in Hertfordshire, England in 1993, the singer/songwriter grew up seeking comfort in the wordplay of folk laureates like Bob Dylan and Woody Guthrie and the raw, emotional resonance of blues masters like Lead Belly. He trained his voice to sound as bold and booming as the latter, and honed his writing chops while travelling—an activity he’d been fascinated with since falling in love with Paddington Bear as a kid. The fictional teddy would come to inspire Ezra’s 2014 debut album, Wanted on Voyage, a phrase found on Paddington’s suitcase. Singles “Budapest” and “Barcelona” burst with buoyant acoustic hooks while evoking the modest sensibility of Ed Sheeran. They also represent a clear sense of place, and Ezra’s eternal wanderlust, something he slips into each of his effervescent works—whether that’s finding “Paradise” in love or riding “Shotgun” to anywhere. That exuberant joie de vivre feels ever more evocative under the influence of his robust baritone, a soothing sonorousness that goes down like a finely aged wine. - Apple Music

Biography

When Austin Post uploaded “White Iverson” to social media in early 2015, he was 19, scrounging for ramen and sleeping in a friend’s closet. Plenty has changed, but Post’s appeal is more or less the same. No matter how Platinum the records go, he still has the air of an ordinary guy, a Crocs-and-Bud Light kid from the suburbs who stumbled backward into fame just by strumming what was in his heart. Post didn’t just look beyond genre, he broke it down, mixing the dark grandeur of trap with the anthemic release of classic rock and country. His signature tracks—“rockstar”, “Sunflower”, “Congratulations”—were both bleak and beautiful, spaced-out and mainstream, hip-hop but not quite. The bass boomed, the melodies soared, and there was Post in the middle, rap-singing his woes like a lonely prince self-exiled in the castle. At live shows, there were no dancers, no pyrotechnics, just Post, in a baggy football jersey with a cigarette in his hand, bringing 60,000 people into his bedroom: The pop star as moody teen.

Born in 1995 in Syracuse, New York, and raised in the suburbs of Dallas, Post grew up on a mix of country, classic rock and rap: In one well-circulated anecdote, young Post would get called into the living room to entertain Dad and friends with the dance to Terror Squad’s “Lean Back”. He turned a love for the video game Guitar Hero into a love of actual guitar, playing in a metal band during high school while also starting to explore hip-hop. “White Iverson” led to Post’s 2016 debut, Stoney; beerbongs & bentleys burrowed further into Post’s luxurious, messy melancholy, while 2019’s Hollywood’s Bleeding found him buttoning up and moving closer to the conventions of mainstream pop, all while retaining his peculiar touch. - Apple Music

Biography

With her highly resonant voice and R&B-influenced style, Becky Hill first came to the public's attention competing on series one of The Voice UK. Ultimately reaching the show's semifinal round, Hill emerged a fan favorite and became the first Voice UK contestant to score a number one single when "Gecko (Overdrive)," her collaboration with Dutch EDM star Oliver Heldens, topped the U.K. singles chart in June 2014.

Born on February 14, 1994 in Bewdley, Worcestershire, England, Hill was no stranger to music when she first auditioned for the then new The Voice UK in 2012. As a teenager, she had sung with the acoustic rock & soul group Shaking Trees, which created some local buzz and received several plays on BBC Radio. On The Voice UK she made it to the semifinal with her powerful renditions of R&B songs by the likes of John Legend and others, before being eliminated. By her own admission, she was a novice in the music industry game and it took her 18 months to finally get a record deal. In the meantime, however, her sultry, soulful, older-than-her-years voice was highly sought-after by dance artists looking for feature vocalists. Her first recorded appearance, on British drum'n'bass artist Wilkinson's single "Afterglow," went to number eight on the U.K. singles chart. She then appeared on Rudimental's single "Powerless," singing with them at several U.K. festivals in 2013, including Glastonbury.

Following her success with Heldens, Hill worked extensively with London-based dance producer MNEK and issued her debut solo single, "Caution to the Wind." It showcased a shift toward a more electronica-influenced sound, with twinkling melodies and production reminiscent of Four Tet. The Eko EP appeared in 2017, and included the single "Unpredictable." The single "Sunrise in the East" followed a year later. In 2019, Hill issued a pair of upbeat singles, "I Could Get Used to This," which featured Weiss, and "Wish You Well," which featured Sigala. - Apple Music

Biography

Blasting into the U.K. charts on the back of the summer anthem "Strike a Pose," Nottingham rap duo Young T & Bugsey built their brand on infectious fusions of hip-hop, Afro-bashment, and trap.

Meeting through mutual friends at the age of 15, rappers Young T (Ra'chard Tucker) and Bugsey (Doyin Julius) bonded over their shared interest in music, as budding musicians and supporters of Nottingham's rap scene. The pair's signature style was forged at Nottingham's Community Recording Studios, a local charity that gave them the means to record in studio quality. Young T & Bugsey's first single came with 2015's "1st Quarter," though it was their second, "Glistenin'," that put their name on the map, racking up hundreds of thousands of digital streams. Continuing into the second half of the 2010s with singles including the D-Block Europe collaboration "Favourite Girl" and a featured appearance on Stay Flee Get Lizzy's BPI-certified gold "Ay Caramba," the duo grew their fan base organically and became ones to watch in the U.K. rap scene.

Young T & Bugsey's critical moment arrived with the 2019 single "Strike a Pose"; with a charismatic feature from Manchester's Aitch, the single soared to the ninth spot on the U.K. chart, eventually landing a platinum sales certification from the BPI. Capitalizing on this colossal success, the duo enlisted Headie One for the anthemic "Don't Rush," which reached number 19 and went gold. The following March, they released their debut mixtape, Plead the 5th, which continued the slick fusion of Afro-swing and rap on which they made their name. The tape peaked at number 25 on the U.K. album chart and entered the Heatseekers chart in the U.S. Remixes of "Don't Rush" -- one with DaBaby, and another with Busta Rhymes -- likewise increased their exposure in the States. - Apple Music

Biography

Los Angeles-based singer/songwriter JP Saxe is a soulful performer who makes yearning, R&B-influenced pop. A native of Toronto, Canada, Saxe grew up in a creative family as the grandson of award-winning Hungarian-born cellist Janos Starker. Inspired by his grandfather, Saxe initially studied the cello as a teenager. Later, after discovering jazz and R&B, he switched to the piano and guitar, and began writing his own songs. By the time he was in his twenties, he was performing weekly in Toronto and posting his songs online. He caught the attention of producers in California, who invited him to record some of his material, an invitation that resulted in Saxe relocating to Los Angeles. In 2017, he released his debut single, "Changed," followed by "Anybody Else." The single "The Few Things" appeared in 2018, with "Same Room" and "If the World Was Ending," the latter of which featured Julia Michaels and reached the Billboard Hot 100, arriving in 2019. - Apple Music

Biography

Scottish singer/songwriter Lewis Capaldi began creating a buzz in early 2017 with the release of his debut single, "Bruises," a brooding exploration of a failed relationship that introduced his intimate piano and vocal sound. On the strength of his lone single, the Bathgate native sold out legendary Glasgow club King Tut's and notched millions of streams before dropping his follow-up single, the equally stark "Lost on You," later that summer. After signing with Virgin Records, Capaldi included both songs on his debut EP, Bloom, and capped off his banner year with a Scottish Music Award for Breakthrough Artist of the Year. The front half of 2018 was spent touring in North America and Europe in advance of his next single, "Rush," featuring Jessie Reyez. "Tough" followed a few months later. Both tracks were featured on his next EP, Breach, which arrived in November of that year. Capaldi's debut LP -- titled Divinely Uninspired to a Hellish Extent -- arrived in May 2019 on Virgin EMI and featured the hit single "Bruises." - Apple Music

Biography

220 KID

220 KID is a producer/writer/DJ and artist from the UK. The 220 KID name was born after running 220 miles in bright pink pants for charity, after his beloved Godfather passed away. And after running that 220 miles he knew anything was possible. He was soon scouted as a model and has worked for the likes of Vogue, GQ, Nike, Reebok and many more, whilst continuing to develop and perfect himself as an established writer/producer. Over the past two years 220 KID has been working with Grammy nominated producer Grades, One Bit, Camden Cox, Billen Ted, Danny Shah, Jackson, and the infamous Scott Storch (Pink, Christina Aquilera, Beyonce, Snoop Dogg, Dre, Sean Paul) to name a few. His broad musical ability has allowed him to write and produce with a wide range of artists also, such as Clean Bandit, Alpines, Frenship, Walking On Cars, Sheppard, and Camelphat, He has most recently been working with Daniel Skye, Jess Boykins III, Amanda CY, Gracey, Maverick Sabre, Bryn Christopher and Ivy Adara. Unquestionably 220 KID has a wide range of production skills, from epic string work to dirty house base lines. Alongside his fresh style of lyrical writing, he has the ability to make any pop song that little bit more ‘cool’. He's certainly one to watch. - Spotify

GRACEY

This is GRACEY - an effusive, preternaturally talented songwriter and future pop dream queen. Despite being only 21 years old, GRACEY is already an in-demand songwriter who has written for some of the biggest names in pop. Now, ‘Different Things’ is her beautifully affecting debut single. Written and produced with her long term collaborator Alan Sampson, ‘Different Things’ is an effortlessly forward-thinking and vividly atmospheric raw depiction of a relationship stretched to breaking point. Cut from the same cloth as Sia and Lorde, GRACEY’s Different Things is a taster of what’s to come from this raw new talent. - Spotify
