During the next month or so, I'll be counting down my Top 40 songs of 2020.

I have this points system e.g.

40- #1

36- #2

32- #3

28- #4

24- #5

20- #6

16- #7

12- #8

8- #9

4- #10

Enjoy the countdown.

Warning, may not be suitable for non-rap fans. I do apologise. Well I was awarded 2020 Best Genre Forum Poster in the R&B and Hip-Hop forum. But I hope there are some you like in this countdown. There will be some surprises. A couple of old favourites.

40TH:

BILL WITHERS- LOVELY DAY

120PTS

Beginning the countdown, we have this classic from the late Bill Withers who sadly passed away this year. One of three older songs in this countdown. It's just such a good song this. When I was younger, I thought he was singing 'Chardonnay' not 'Lovely Day'.

Lovely Day is a brill song to start off the countdown with, bringing back good memories. Good to see Tick Tock and Don't Need Love high up on your commiserations as well!
  • 3 weeks later...

Aww 'Lovely Day' has a huge place in my heart for sentimental reasons, love that it has kicked off your top 40!

"When I was younger, I thought he was singing 'Chardonnay' not 'Lovely Day'." though

THE WEEKND- IN YOUR EYES

124PTS

Sorry for the delay, at #39. It is The Weeknd with 'In Your Eyes'. Another song of his is likely to appear but this was another great tune from him.

Thanks Pete, it certainly was one of the best songs to reach the Top 40 this year.

MAROON 5- MEMORIES

128PTS

Warning, an unpopular choice in the countdown but it is Maroon 5 with 'Memories'. Just always enjoyed Maroon 5's music. Listened to it a lot more during 2020 than the late part of 2019.

37TH:

DOJA CAT- SAY SO

128PTS

At #37, we have Doja Cat with her smash hit 'Say So'. Really enjoyed this from her. Still sounding great.

36TH:

JUSTIN BIEBER- YUMMY

128PTS

At #36, I can only apologise it is another unpopular choice according to the Hate Chart. But I did like this from Justin Bieber. It's no 'What Do You Mean', 'Sorry' or 'Love Yourself' but I quite liked this from him.

35TH:

SUMMER WALKER FT USHER- COME THRU

132PTS

Next, something different here from female R&B artist Summer Walker featuring Usher which sampled Usher's 1998 UK #1 'You Make Me Wanna'. Hearing this I thought this is a tune and enjoyed the sample in this. I hope to see Summer Walker have UK Chart success sometime soon.

I liked Yummy too and it'll be in a similar spot in my EOY, and I loooved Come Thru - great collab!

33RD:

JUICE WRLD- WISHING WELL

144PTS

At #33, it is the much missed Juice WRLD with 'Wishing Well'.

Really glad Breaking Me became the hit it did, I've been aware of Topic for quite a few years but never really expected him to make the mainstream in the way this did so that was a nice surprise!
