Finishing in fifth place is the highest talent show contestant of this batch - Darius. He first found fame on Popstars before finding more success on the following year's Pop Idol. After turning down a multi-million pound record deal by Simon Cowell, Darius signed with Mercury Records and released 'Colourblind' as his debut single. The song was an instant hit and gave Darius his first (and to date only) number one single. Darius would go on to have 4 more top 10 singles and win the the talent show Popstar to Operastar.
