Oh yes I watched this the other night! No Madonna at all in the countdown was a shock also :o

No Madonna? :o Although tbf she's had so many hits that likely works against her.

I wonder if "One More Sleep" did enough to remain top 40. It was #17 in the one midweek update we had, but it likely fell quite a lot as the week progressed.

I'm hoping it's the chart of the year today instead because I'd rather listen to the best songs of the year rather than Christmas songs.

Yes wierd did top 20 update on sunday 27th December

Yeah, dunno why they did that.

It won't be.

At a guess, R1 didn’t think the chart would still be full of Christmas songs today but they knew that it would have still been on the First Look chart on Sunday, hence why they decided to do the Chart of the Year then!

Yep :o This is very true! Quite a few things surprised me really, like 'Do You Really Want To Hurt Me' being higher than 'Karma Chameleon' out of the Culture Club songs etc.

It won't be.

Then why did they do a 2020 chart first look on Sunday? They said it was the biggest selling singles of the year so far. So would it make sense for them to do a song of the year chart today.

I'm excited for the first chart of the year, I wonder who will be #1. I hope Comin Over here charts this week.

It would be nice to see No Body, No Crime return.

I'm interested in how the chart will look now that Christmas is over.

I love Put Your Hands Up For Detroit, I've not heard that before.

Biography

José Monserrate Feliciano García (born September 10, 1945), better known simply as José Feliciano [xoˈse feliˈsjano], is a Puerto Rican musician, singer and composer, best known for many international hits, including his rendition of the Doors' "Light My Fire" and the best-selling Christmas single, "Feliz Navidad." His music is known for its fusion of styles: Latin, jazz, blues, soul and even rock, created primarily with his unique, signature acoustic guitar sound. His oftentimes mellow easy listening influences are easily recognizable in many songs heard around the world.

In the United States, he first received widespread popularity in the 1960s, particularly after his 1968 album Feliciano! reached number two on the music charts. Thus far, he has released over fifty albums, worldwide, in both English and Spanish. - Wikipedia

What a joyful start to the chart  (if you don't mind still listening to Christmas songs, I'm probably good for another week x)
To be fair, we've had a whopping one midweek update this week to go off, with no sales info...!! :P

No missed the top 40 songs this week, they'll be back next week (probably)

Good luck!

A 52 year wait for another Top 40 hit, yes at Feliz Navidad going Top 40. :cheer:.@
