I have been tracking Leona's Spotify streams for the past few years compiling year end stats. I thought as we have had limited new content this year, some of you might appreciate these stats. These are the 40 most streamed Leona tracks globally on Spotify this year, so not including any other audio/video stream services or physical/download sales. Where there are multiple versions, these have been combined and noted below, only using official single version and mixes included on albums. Without further ado:

A few comments on this.

 

1. This list does not include charity tracks with numerous artists such as Just Stand Up, Love Song To The Earth, Bridge Over Troubled Water with numerous artists involved.

2. It is worth noting that the Glassheart album was only made available in the US as of 2019 and is still not available among some other regions (as far as I am aware). Same goes for certain Spirit & Echo album tracks like SCYHO & Homeless.

3. As with the European Echo tracks not being available globally, the US tracks Fly Here Now and You Don't Care aren't available here. As such, I have no stats on them.

4. The streams counted cover 30th Dec 19 - 30th Dec 20.

Amazing to see I See You get over 1m streams in its first year on Spotify. :cheer: Probably the worst part of the mishandling of Leona's career was not pushing it as a single after Happy.

 

Crazy that You Are The Reason is Leona's third most-streamed song ever. :lol:

Oh I didn't realise 'I See You' was finally on Spotify! :o *adds to playlist* It really is unbelievable that it wasn't pushed as a single. Avatar was literally the most ambitious film since Titanic and we all know how huge 'My Heart Will Go On' was.

I hope "I See You" gets a decent boost when the Avatar sequels are released.

 

Also, Glassheart is now available on US spotify. It's been available since October 2019 unless it got taken down again.

 

I hope they re-release CWL and its gets a nice boost on spotify - whether it be more of her Christmas songs get playlist support etc.

 

The "Run" duet version is recently released. They released all of Helene's live TV performances from her TV show. She's massive in Germany and "Run" was a massive long running hit there. Not surprised to see it do so well streaming-wise.

Great to see the reason so high, it really deserved to be a much bigger hit.

Good spot! I have updated the list accordingly. Did think it was odd the track apparently got over 9 million streams in December yet wasn't showing on either artist's top 10. :lol:

Ah that's good to know, always seemed crazy that it wasn't made available in one of Leona's biggest markets, especially with the Childish Gambino feature.

 

Fingers crossed we get a 10th anniversary version. A number of tracks have become regulars on regional xmas playlists so not just OMS doing well from CWL seasonally. :dance:

 

Agreed with those mentioning I See You, was a huge missed opportunity. Has done well considering it was released part way through the year. With Avatar 2 on the way, hopefully that will drive interest in I See You.

 

You Are The Reason has at least kept the list a bit more up to date. Would like to see them do another duet/feature together.

Happy New Year everyone! As it has been another quiet year (bar the last month), I wanted to share this year's update. Same format as before. Points of interest:

- Needless to say the Christmas tracks got the biggest boosts this year with them all improving on their position from last year, with the exception of One More Sleep which needs the biggest increase to overtake Better In Time. Its total did increase by an extra 2 million on last year still, so if it increases like this again next year, it should be able to overtake it.

- A big boost in Walking On Sunshine's streams (more than double last year's numbers). The other two tracks from the soundtrack Leona plays a big part on had declines this year though, so it looks more likely this was to do with its high placement on the 'This is Leona Lewis' playlist. If anyone knows any other reason for the surge, would love to hear it.

- Despite Happy's drop, it did actually increase in streams. Collide just happened to increase even more!

- Overall streams were down on the previous year, not that this is very surprising. Hopefully we will get some new material sooner in 2022 to increase interest. LL#6 if we're lucky.

Same here, doesn't sound dated at all to me and is such a positive song. Always pleased to see it has been remembered well and continues to stream well.

Fingers crossed. Had barely passed the 300k mark as of August 2018 so unless it gets picked up by Tik Tok or something, we got a long wait ahead of us.

 

@diva - Bleeding Love has been a real consistent streaming hit the last few years. Was just under 95 million by the end of 2016 so the vast majority have come from the last 5 years alone.
