7.3m for Call The Midwife (highest overnight launch since 2018)

9.9m for Line of Duty (highest ever overnight rating - previously s6 launch with 9.56m)

With an even bigger cliffhanger this week, Line of Duty could cross 10m next week in the overnights!

Episode 1 of Line of Duty has consolidated to 15.20m in the 28-day ratings (14.59m for TV sets only).

This makes it the most watched TV broadcast of the year so far surpassing Oprah with Harry & Meghan (14.89m).

Line of Duty with another massive high - 10.9m viewers last night! Up 1m on last week's all-time high :o

The final episode may even overtake Harry & Meghan next week (11.3m is the overnight figure to beat)?

Highest rated TV drama since Doctor Who's Christmas Day episode (which drew 11.7m)!

12.8m (56.2%) for the final episode of Line of Duty!

Massive!! Outside of the PM's various lockdown announcements, I can't even remember when we last saw an overnight rating that high

EDIT:

Now confirmed by Lizo Mzimba as the highest overnight audience for a drama (excluding soaps) since 11 February 2001!

In terms of highest overnight rating outside of live sport and news events, unless I've missed something obvious, I think it's the last Bake Off final on BBC One in 2016 (14m viewers).

The BRITs averaged just 2.9m last night with a 3.6m peak. BBC drama Three Families continued with 2.1m, down 400k on Monday's premiere.

Next milestone is to try and topple Bodyguard and Gavin & Stacey in the 28 day figures!

The much-anticipated reunion episode of Friends was watched by around 1.7 million viewers in the UK on its first day of release.

The Sky One broadcast pulled in 691,000 (4.6%), according to early figures, while a further 982,000 watched the programme on demand at some point throughout the day.

The figures are expected to rise further over the Bank Holiday weekend as more viewers stream the programme on demand.

With thanks to DS, here's how GBeebies performed on Day 1. It beat Kay Burley's breakfast show on Sky but overall came in third place for the day, marginally behind Sky. The demographics skewing massively male and ABC1 can be quite valuable for them in terms of attracting advertising revenue (well, those who are willing to be on the platform lol). Sadly, it looks like GBeebies is safe for now!
