The Proclaimers are the only of my nominations out so far. Although there are already a few songs I'd missed from going through the list of #3s so hadn't really considered, including that Isley Brothers one which probably wouldn't have made my final 30, but would have been close to it.

No surprise I was the only one who voted for a Morrissey song. There's hardly any hype for him on here.

Irish Blood, English Heart wasn't far away from my nominations. However out of his solo songs, I'd only put Every Day Is Like Sunday up there with the 15 or so best songs by The Smiths.

Billy Ray Cyrus - Achy Breaky Heart

Culture Club - Victims

The Damned - Eloise

Dua Lipa - IDGAF

Papa Roach - Last Resort

Donna Summer and Barbara Streisand - No More Tears (Enough Is Enough)

Peter Skellern - You're A Lady

The second song from my vote to go out, a beautiful song by Peter Skellern with great use of the brass band and choir. I think Victims by Culture Club is better than either of their number 1s and we have a great cover version of Eloise by The Damned. No More Tears really should have been a number 1 single.

Godley & Creme - Under Your Thumb

The Jimi Hendrix Experience - Purple Haze

Christina Milian - When You Look At Me

Pussycat Dolls - When I Grow Up

Another one from my vote, Kevin Godley puts in a dramatic performance on TOTP for this train based ghost story. The legendary Jimi Hendrix is here while the other two acts still have one more song to come.

The Fugees - Rumble In The Jungle

Selena Gomez - Lose You To Love Me

George Michael - Older/I Can't Make You Love Me

Mental As Anything - Live It Up

Orbital - Satan (Live)

The View - Same Jeans

Yazoo - Nobody's Diary

A great song by Yazoo, their third top 3 hit. Also here we have Live It Up which recently reached no.1 on the sales chart after being adopted by fans of Rangers FC.

Doh! Only just seen this thread, sorry. My full points would obviously have gone to Baker Street.

With points for:

Oh Carol

Sealed With A Kiss

It Might As Well Rain Until Septmeber

I Want To Stay Here

Eve Of Destruction

1-2-3

Monday Monday

River Deep Mountain High

A Little Bit Me A Little Bit You

Zabadak

Walk Away Renee

Dock Of The Bay

This Guy's In LOve With You

This Old Heart Of Mine

Reflections Of My Life

and that's just the 60's and half the slots are already gone!

No I couldnt have narrowed it down to 30, it would have driven me insane at having to dump major classics! I would have had to just go to my All-Time Top 900 and see which ones peaked at 3, otherwise I wouldnt even get beyond 1980....

Satan (Live) is an absolute tune! I remember being so surprised when it charted as high as #3
'Same Jeans' a landfill indie classic. And again I forgot it charted as high as #3!
how can 2002 be in the company of all these classics :/

I didn't nominate 2002 but LOL at people's reaction. Well, maybe I should have given it 20 points just to see that song going through to the semifinals and make this thread even funnier.

I just lost 1 nomination so far but I will lose another one with 13 points. :(

Think I'm about to lose my second but only the Boyzone guilty pleasure gone so far!

Satan by Orbital is such a tune and in hindsight I probably should have included it in my top 30.

Agnes - Release Me

The Belle Stars - Sign Of The Times

Jonas Blue featuring Jack & Jack - Rise

Blue Mink - The Banner Man

East 17 - It's Alright

Girls Aloud - Life Got Cold

Katrina and the Waves - Love Shine A Light

Jona Lewie - Stop The Cavalry

Rihanna, Kanye West and Paul McCartney - FourFiveSeconds

This was the biggest hit for the all female band who came up with some party anthems from 1982-83. Jona Lewie's enduring Christmas tune is here along with the last song to win the Eurovision Song Contest for the United Kingdom.

Poor Jonas Blue. Rise is a great dance track imo. :(

The Chi-Lites - Have You Seen Her

Alesha Dixon - Breathe Slow

Drake - Passionfruit

Nelly featuring City Spud - Ride Wit Me

Jurgen Vries featuring CMC - The Opera Song (Brave New World)

One of the best trance hits from the 2000s with a barnstorming vocal from Charlotte Church. We also have a soul classic from the Chi-Lites, one of six top ten singles for them from 1972 to 1976.
