It’s... ok I think?

That recent If U Seek Amy thread on Buzzjack has made me realise what the style of vocal effect at 2:11 in the song remind me of - Britney Spears songs in the early 2010s - the whole song does have an early 10s feel with the style of female vocal in it too and with what sounds like Example singing in it too as I said before.

I am up for this making the charts anyway, this re-edit doesn't ruin the classic original when added to it and the additional bassline in the second verse by Riton is a great feature I think.

MK himself (the one who made the version we all know, Push the Feeling On is a Jazz song originally) used the meme as an intro of his Defected Virtual Festival set.

Agreed, it's really cheap and 'Push the Feeling On' is still a hugely relevant song in its own right so there's no use for this version.

Already back-tracking... this is annoyingly infectious.

The new vocals are quite underwhelming, I thought it would just be those two guys from TikTok

Completely agreed. Those female vocals are terrible and sound cheap AF.

I get they couldn't just use the meme parts on loop but they could have padded it out with better vocals. I'd even have taken a rap over what we've got.

Anyway, this might the first time ever I've been ahead of the curve when it comes to TikTok memes charting!

I think the female vocal sounds quite early 10s EDM vocal though so there is a bit of a nostalgia factor there for me.

I personally find that chart position kinda disrespectful tbh

Absolutely, it deserves to be MUCH higher.

I wouldn’t be averse to this teaching the top 40 tbh :cheer:
It looks like it will be finally top 40 this Friday. #31 today.

Now that I've actually heard this...

why does this exist

Maybe if I was familiar with the meme it's based on I'd understand it more but it just seems like a cheap rehash of the original song with completely pointless added vocals and randomly throwing a TikTok sample over it? Why would anyone ever listen to this over the original song?

edit: I found the original TikTok this is based on and sure I kinda get why that went viral but it doesn't translate into turning it into a full song, as shown by the unrelated female vocals having to be added to pad it out which add absolutely nothing to it. :')

Will need to give it a few more listens now that it's looking likely to be a big hit then, hopefully it starts growing.

If anyone is interested, the uncredited female vocalist is Harper.

I don't have TikTok but looking at the YouTube reupload of Mufasa dancing yes it is quite a good meme I think. Also Gordon Ramsay did a version of it!

The female vocal is to make it sound more like a modern dance song I think as that sort of vocal house is popular now. Also it is more likely to be a hit now if it has a bit of a poppy vocal to it.

This is so cheap, like even moreso than 'Turn Me On' was.

Are you referring to the Cheat Codes cover of the Kevin Lyttle song?
