I was so proud of my initial answer to Q3 (ghetto gospel) then I saw your clarification further down (good job I read that!)

Yeah, that's why I asked the question. I initially wanted to go for 'Womanizer'!

I never banked on some members being so clever and thinking outside the box for a question like that... but I wish one day that I remember to include a question that says find a song with a country name contained within the letters of the title! Then I can remember to enter I’m Alive by Stretch N Vern.

Q12 - Should it be a first hit single that was a new entry at number 1 or could it be a first chart hit that took more than one week to reach number 1?

Oh I see what you mean, again, I had not considered this in the wording of the question, but to clarify it doesn’t need to have got to #1 in it’s first week, only that it was the debut single and that it reached #1 (and not part of some re-release later in the discography).

Submitted my answers... couple really stumped me and I think I settled when I probably could have thought of something better.

Reckon I've got at least one pointless answer though.

Thanks, awardinary... that was fun.

Just giving the thread a polite bump and reminding everyone that you have just over 24 hours left to enter this quiz if you haven’t yet done so! ^_^

Remember, as this is the first quiz of this season, you have every possible chance to go top of the leaderboard after this quiz! :cheer:

I am struggling to find an answer to the first question even with Google, great start... (my complete lack of knowledge/interest in films doesn't help)

I have lousy film knowledge too but there were some you really couldn’t avoid knowing about at the time (I’m quite a bit older than you though so different experience probably).

That said I think there genuinely weren’t many options for that question - either that I just didn’t do very well thinking of them.

I did eventually find one, it's just one where the fact that it's from a film soundtrack is not exactly the first thing that comes to mind about it (for me anyway)

I was looking on the Wiki article for #1s of the 2000s (due to failing to remember one without looking it up) going from the end of 2009 backwards and had to go back quite a few years to find one, though I imagine I probably skipped over at least one other that was also a film soundtrack song without me being aware of it.

Sent mine in.

Changed my mind about a few of the answers, hope the ones I rejected don't end up being better answers than the ones I changed to.

Thanks for all the entries, we finished with 37 different participants. I am hoping I can get the results posted tomorrow evening if I finish in time, but it might be later depending on circumstances. Thanks for understanding. See you soon.
