Nymph reveals Shygirl’s inner self-reflection in experimental vocal tones and deconstructed dance melodies and exhibits a new level of intimacy and emotional depth in her songwriting. Simultaneously asserting her power and freedom and yet still longing for love, she delivers us lyrical harmonies and catchy hooks telling stories of relationships, sexual desires and romantic frustrations. Over lush production, Shygirl brings us on the journey of what intimacy is like for a woman who’s seen as ‘too hot to handle’, someone sought after and overlooked at the same time. Shygirl’s melodies intertwine with the sounds of bassline, garage, dancehall and hip hop, all seamlessly flowing together like an artful ribbon dance.

I pre-ordered a cassette!

Firefly is on repeat. I'm guessing it samples a Trey Songz song seeing he's credited as a writer?

Love this! Very 00s vibes, quite different to the sound I'd associate with Shygirl, but between this and Cleo I'm v hyped for the album (bring on the Arca/Danny tracks!)

Did Mabel's PR team write this :cheeseblock:

Oh wow, I love this. The production is stunning as always, but I like this other side being brough out with Shygirl riffing on her vulnerability. Very hyped for the album, it's another great single - Shygirl is absolute ️‍🔥

Cecile Believe on backing vocals too <3

Been reading this article about her: http://officemagazine.net/shygirl-siren-and-storyteller

Comes across really well!

It really is interesting because yesterday someone came up to me as I was having breakfast at my hotel, and they said that my music really brought them out of a depression and helped them to feel confident about themselves. That is something I really never expected to happen. I always find it so humbling when someone has that experience with my music because I guess it has a similar effect on me, if not so drastically. But it’s definitely a lifeline. For the future, I hope to just maintain that lifeline.

ShyGirl and Bree Runaway must be the two most interesting female artists of the moment!
I really like this on first listen and expect it will grow further (hopefully on you too Kath), Blane knows what she is doing and Arca's sparse & chaotic production does surprisingly work with her vocal style. I love the title too!

I've been loving 'Come For Me' for the past month or so  it's an interesting one as I usually associate Arca production with being very noisily in-your-face, plus the verses and chorus spill into each other as one long earworm, yet the execution is more subtly addictive than I would've imagined - quirky but sparsely delivered definitely. 'Firefly' is lovely too - bring on the album!

Both of the singles so far have been great - perhaps surprisingly I am actually liking 'Firefly' more out of the two though! (I mean that's probably the popular opinion but 'Come For Me' feels like it 'should' be the one that appeals more to me specifically, the Arca collab doesn't disappoint at all though, 'Firefly' is just too much of a banger to ignore x)

Shame 'Cleo' doesn't appear to be on the album.
