Oh, poor Maxïmo Park if they get denied their first #1 album at the last hurdle!

They should apply some pressure with a social media push

Any chance of Save Your Tears reaching the top 10 tomorrow?

Still low, but it's closer than it was last week, hopefully it gets there eventually.

Glass Animals climbed to a new peak on Spotify. Hope they climb officially tomorrow. They always do best on the final charts than any of the midweek updates. Same for Duncan Lawrence

I thought ticket bundles didn't count towards the UK chart (they certainly never seemed to have the same ridiculous distortionary effect they did in the US). Maybe the rules are just slightly different here ~

I don't really care too much who gets the #1 between the current top 2, Architects would at least feel a bit more current/relevant I guess (and either one would be a first #1 after over a decade of releasing albums). Looks like Digga D will fall a bit short of even the 9-10k I was predicting for him, even for just being a mixtape this does seem like a little bit of an underperformance!

For the third week on the trot, we worry about the #1 breaking the record for lowest #1 sales, yet the #1 may end up passing 10k.

It's bad that the #1 passing 10k is deemed some sort of success though.

Mogwai are down 1-18 today.

That in itself is something of an achievement, they must usually fall way further than that in week 2.

It's a little :') when a #1 album maybe getting a second week in the top 40 is actually a pleasant surprise but I'm happy it hasn't actually collapsed out of the top 200 as I was fully expecting it to. Their last album in 2017 fell 6-61 in its second week, and it seems they have never had an album spend more than 3 weeks in the top 100. They managed 3 weeks with 1999's 'Come On Die Young', 2013's 'Les Revenants' soundtrack (which actually missed the top 40 but had 2 separate runs in the top 100) and 2014's 'Rave Tapes', all their other entries had only one or two weeks. Maybe this one could yet give them another album with 3 weeks in the top 100?

I think I am going to check out the album, the first 2 singles were pretty good and I'm even more impressed with the third single 'Pat Stains' which I only finally got around to listening to yesterday.

Maybe since sales are so low at the top end Mogwai naturally fall less but I guess that would have been the case with other second week albums.

They did do a video on twitter tonight actually.

Is it really gonna be 3 weeks in a row with the same top 10? Jesus wept... just think if ACR didn't exist how long these same 10 wouldn't be shifting.

At least I like most of them!

If ACR didn't exist we wouldn't actually be stuck with this same top 10... because Blinding Lights would still be in it :D

Incredible! :o tbh that would almost be preferable just to see how many top 10 weeks it would have 'naturally' achieved.

There was a brief chat about this in here, it would be on 41 weeks now (having dropped out for the last few months of 2020) which is still short of the 51 weeks Lewis Capaldi would have spent there with Someone You Loved!

Are Majestic and Boney M anywhere near the top 40 today?

No
