Done 3 full listens of this now and it’s really growing on me. Lovely chill album will defo get some plays over Autumn/Winter.

I love the album so much, it's such a grower, there are no bad songs and so many many highlights!

 

it's a pity some will see it as an inferior album just cos it was releases so soon after the last one...

Really hope it’s managed to climb to #2 today, it doesn’t deserve to be her lowest-charting album 😭

Too early to say but I think it’ll end up being one of my favourites of hers, it’s been on repeat all week.

I'm really enjoying the album! 'Dealer' is my ultimate highlight so I'm glad that TikTok has picked up on it a bit, love the moody atmosphere laid out by Miles Kane which then evolves into THOSE desperate vocals from Lana, she really pushed herself again *.* my other favourites right now are: Cherry Blossom, Black Bathing Suit, Violets for Roses, Thunder and Living Legend. Gutted because I pre-ordered the red vinyl from HMV but my order was cancelled as I did it on a card that expired before the release date oops, will have to look elsewhere :drama:

 

Edit: ooh the vinyl was showing as sold out for me yesterday but back in stock today, re-ordered <3

Gonna give this album another go this weekend and hope it grows on me.

Seen the album did manage to climb from the midweeks and it just about debuted at #2 (Elton was #1). So all her UK albums have a top 2 peak just Honeymoon and this not managing to top the charts.

 

Wonder how the chart run for this will be. If there’s been vinyl delays could we see a less harsh drop than Chemtrails? However as it’s Q4 maybe not

COTCC went 1-14 with a debut week more than twice as big so #23 in the midweeks is honestly much better than I'd have predicted.

after Ben Howard did a 1-OUT of the top 100 nothing surprises me anymore about week 2 drops

They’ve just added 2 new bundles as UK only exclusives - 4 formats with a signed poster so a potential for 8k additional sales should they all sell!

I’ve gave the album another listen today and it sounded so much better. Its all starting to fall into place and grow on me now and I’m able to tell certain tracks apart as well. Its actually quite a nice listen overall -_-

no promo from Lana or her team... surprised it got any buzz at all. It's going to be her most successful track since... god knows... 'West Coast'???

I hate to say it but I think this is comfortably my least favourite album from her to date :( I was hoping 'Arcadia' - which I still adore - would be more reflective of the quality of the rest of the album than the previous singles (of which I thought 2/3 were complete snoozefests and 'Text Book' was just 'quite good'), but sadly that hasn't turned out to be the case. 'Dealer' is also great (it's the standout album track by a mile so I'm glad that's the one that got some attention even if seemingly short-lived), 'Beautiful' is v good, 'Violets For Roses' and 'Black Bathing Suit' are also quite good. The rest I can't say I am in any rush to hear again (well I like the interlude too but I consider that to be basically just a part of 'Arcadia' lmao). Idk why as it's not a radical departure from her other albums but the songs this time just aren't hitting the same way for some reason.

 

I grant that some of these songs might be growers but I'm not really one to listen to albums in full more than once and I can definitely say my first impression of this is very mid compared to all of her others. And there was no sign of 'Blue Banisters' or 'Wildflower Wildfire' sounding any better on the album than they did as singles.

I find it quite ridiculous, I have to admit. You are missing out. Some songs shine after repeated listens. A great song doesn't have to be instantly liked.
