A game involving Spice Girls songs that didn’t achieve single status!

 

I guess most of the regular Spice forum posters will be familiar with most if not all of these songs, although I appreciate that this game might be more alienating for the casual fans! But now is as good a time as any to check out the Spice Girls’ deep cuts, right? :cool:

 

I’ve taken every album track, B Side and other commercially released songs by the Spice Girls and randomly put them into duals. Simply choose your favourite song out of each pair. The songs with the most votes will progress to Round 2!

 

Note: I’m disregarding Touch era songs, leaked Spice Girls songs & live songs that weren’t included on Spice Girls releases (for example, Woman), just to narrow down the list of songs slightly. I hope no one minds these omissions. I also hope I didn’t accidentally leave out songs that do fit the criteria!

I didn’t have too much trouble deciding, but the hardest decision for me was Step to Me vs Tell Me Why 🤭 Closely followed Walk of Life vs Oxygen. Both of those songs are good but have annoying aspects to them. I ended up surprising myself and choosing Oxygen.

Step to Me vs Tell Me Why was HARD as was Naked vs Never Give Up On The Good Times!

 

Do It vs Voodoo was not hard - both are trash and whilst Voodoo might be the worst song, it is the most fun and at least that is a redeeming feature that Do It doesnt have :P

The only I really struggled with was Walk of life vs Oxygen. I also had to pause with the Sisters vs Last time lover as I do LOVE Sisters are doing it for themselves and that song is 100xs better than Last time lover but then that's the original version not a live version.

Poor Naked. A cool song in its time, but didn't stand a chance against the majesty of NGUOTGT.

 

It was tough deciding between Right Back at Ya and Move Over. But I always loved that Pepsi ad.

 

Really would love My Strongest Suit if it wasn't for the lyric "tonight my droppings will not be subdued". Sounds like someone's having tummy troubles.
