September 28, 20231 yr Most misleading artist with chart peaks goes to Westlife, 14 number ones and nobody remembers any of them  most misleading comment.
May 25May 25 Reviving another old thread 😆- most of the ones I would've thought of have been mentioned already. Will contribute with some names that aren't quite as bigNSYNC- do people still remember Girlfriend (2)? Bye Bye Bye (3) and It's Gonna Be Me (9) are surely more popular nowTrain- think Drops Of Jupiter (10) and Hey Soul Sister (18) get more streams now than Drive By (6)Portishead- Glory Box (15) is more famous than All Mine (8)Republica- Ready To Go (13) is more famous than Drop Dead Gorgeous (7)Jamiroquai- highest charting is Deeper Underground (1), Virtual Insanity (3) is better rememberedSum 41- highest charting is Fat Lip (8), In Too Deep (13) is better rememberedKorn- biggest is Here To Stay (12) when Freak On A Leash is better remembered (24)Yeah Yeah Yeahs- biggest is Date With The Night (16), Heads Will Roll (89) is surely their best rememberedNine Inch Nails- Closer (25) is way more famous than The Hand That Feeds (7)Tenacious D- highest is Pick Of Destiny (24), their best known is easily Tribute (80, but wasn't released as a single originally)The Libertines- would argue Don't Look Back Into The Sun (11) is better remembered than Can't Stand Me Now (2) Edited May 25May 25 by gasman449

May 26May 26 Heads Will Roll has about 836m on spotify when you combine the original and the remix which is over double what Maps has
May 26May 26 That's the algorithm to you, must be on some playlist, doesn't make it the most popular song imoask anyone who's into indie alt music and see what they say, thats the proper test
May 26May 26 It's me, I'm an indie guy! I think "Heads Will Roll" (both versions) has more cultural cache than "Maps" nowadays, encounter it more in the wild. It's like the Whitney Houston situation. "I Will Always Love You" feels like a career defining moment, and for a long time it was the Whitney Houston song (I know it's a cover), but I think situationally now, more people choose to listen to "I Wanna Dance With Somebody" because it's more fun, and so now that's arguably her biggest song.

Also if you were ask what their biggest streaming hit, I don’t think a lot of folks correctly “My Love” - 263m total, 151k daily.Their top 11 streamed (all above 100m) by daily streams My Love - 263m (151k)If I Let You Go - 197m (105k)Swear It Again - 163m (92k)Uptown Girl - 217m (69k)Fool Again - 112m (65k)I Lay My Love on You - 103m (65k) (non UK single)Flying Without Wings - 117m (50k)Against All Odds - 91m (49k)You Raise Me Up - 120m (41k)When You're Looking Like That - 100m (42k) (non-UK single)World of Our Own - 121m (33k)Their actual #1s#16 Queen of My Heart - 55m (25k)#20 Mandy - 62m (20k)#23 I Have a Dream - 25m (11k)#31 The Rose - 31m (10k)#33 Unbreakable - 31m (9k)Versus the rest of their top tens#17 When You Tell Me That You Love Me - 38m (25k)#24 Home - 34m (12k)#26 What Makes a Man - 25m (11k)#27 What About Now - 43m (11k)#28 Bop Bop Baby - 24m (10k)#29 Obvious - 24m (10k)#35 Us Against the World - 18m (7k)#37 Tonight - 9.4m (7k)#42 Amazing - 11m (6k)#43 Safe - 17m (5k)#101 Hey Whatever - 2.5m (839)
May 26May 26 I think westlife for me is weird because I'd struggle to name them off top of my head but bassoon as I see most of them written down my brain can automatically humm the melody 😅

But when you actually think about how often people might be in the mood to listen to it, you can start to see how more upbeat hits are going up the list.
