I always got him mixed up with the glazers thinking he was one of the brothers - they’ll just add another idiot in there?

In all seriousness if there was competition in terms of promotion and relegation would it be able to work, what’s people’s thoughts?

No I don't think it would work as it would mess up the various national leagues. 15 teams would be nowhere near enough and it would get stale really fast just seeing the same teams playing each other every week. It severely limits the chance of teams working their way up through the ranks of one day being able to face the best teams in Europe.

Woodward is out I’m crying happy tears. Glazers reported to be considering selling. This will all have been worth it if we get rid of the cancer at the head of United.

Barca backed out saying they’d ask the fans, Athletico out. Players at multiple clubs went pure Tonto at heirarchy behind closed doors. Juve president gone. The scalps this mess is claiming 🥰

I think it could work, it is essentially the Champions League without any domestic involvement. Certainly within the model there are some good points, the financials would be a lot more sustainable, but how we get to that point.

No surprise the idea has fallen on its arse. I genuinely don't know what they were thinking with the timing and engagement. Liverpool have pulled out too apparently,

On the subject of Woodward - it's interesting he is leaving at the end of the season, which I suspect was planned. I think all the CEOs will be used as fall-guys for the owners of the football clubs.

I can't help wondering whether Chelsea and Man C have been advised that UEFA have a watertight case for throwing them out of this season's Champions League.
How do they break the legally binding agreement though?

Expensive lawyers no doubt  I'm no legal expert but I doubt it is that watertight and the likes of City have certainly gotten away with worse.

If all 12 break it, whose left to enforce it?

This has been quite fun to follow, quite insane how literally anyone could've thought people would react well to this. Almost like rich billionaires at the heart of football don't actually know and understand why people like it outside of monetary reasons, who'd have thought!

I do agree I think there's a bit of hypocrisy from the likes of FIFA and UEFA though, I feel like this idea will still go through eventually, it'll just be adjusted heavily under the guise of something different.

Curveball alert, but the rumours are the Super League is still on.. only City have dropped out (and given a brown envelope to UEFA along the way).
Not the case. Barca have been on Spanish tv to confirm they aren’t in. The thing is dead.

How recent was that? Latest I'm hearing is Barcelona and Athletico have been convinced to stay. Chelsea have doubts but are still in. Could be a Madrid mouthpiece.

Perez due to be talking again in the next hour.

They were saying they hadn’t signed up at all and wouldn’t without approval of their fans. There’s no way back from that for them. Such a definitive position.

My feed at the Moment, and SkySportsNews, focused on the confirmed relegation of Schalke 04 and Woodward going and continued stories of the prem clubs all leaving.

Heard the ESL meets at 23:30 CEST (so now). This could be the official end
