Just like it says on the tin, what is your favourite Steps lead single? They have released a total of 7 lead singles to date (not counting 'Dancing With A Broken Heart') as that was a new track on the re-release of 'Tears On The Dancefloor' & classed as the 4th single from that era. 'Tragedy' isn't technically a lead single either as firstly released during the 'Step One' era as part of a double a-side alongside 'Heartbeat', then added to 'Steptacular' a year later.

Right now what the future holds is my fave but on another time scared of the dark could also get my vote or 5678 as that was the song that started it all off and i still like it alot. Stomp i also love and its one of my fave Steps singles and i really enjoy chain reaction aswell.

Light up the world is is my least fave,

Light up The World is not bad, its problem is all the others are much superior.

Suprisingly weak selection.

I like only 3 songs (5678, Love's Got A Hold On My Heart and Light Up The World)

Loves got a hold on my heart was never a huge fave of mine, i like it but its not one of their memorable ones for me.

I think What The Future Holds is the best first single. 5,6,7,8 is the immediate worst eep.

Stomp and 5,6,7,8 having votes for worst is an unwelcome surprise.

I totally agree with this, always wondered why they chose to lead with this then After the love has gone.

It was not the best choice of lead but luckily it did no damage to the success of the album. I prefer Movin On to Loves Got a Hold on My Heart.

Best: Scared Of The Dark - what a way to cement a solid comeback!

Worst: Love’s Got A Hold On My Heart - not my least favourite of the songs listed here, but I’ve chosen this one as the others felt like the right choice of a lead single. I think they should have led with Deeper Shade Of Blue from Steptactular as it would have caught everyone by surprise in the same way SOTD did all those years later.

Best - Loves Got A Hold On My Heart - I have such good memories of that song and it’s be in my top 5 Steps songs too.

Worst - Light Up The World - Had to choose one, they’re all great but this is just that little bit less so.

They really do have some pretty strong lead singles.

Best - Scared Of The Dark - such a storming return, I don't think they'd still be having such success all these years on if not for this song, it really made people stand up and listen

 

Worst - 5,6,7,8 - to me this always just feels like a novelty hit by a different act as it's nothing like the rest of Steps' music - very catchy but not one I listen to much out of choice, great on the last tour though

Best: Scared Of The Dark - I remember how excited I was for a proper reunion. I remember where I was when I heard this masterpiece as well.

 

Worst: yah ok light up the world. Like said above, it's not a terrible song, just doesn't compare to our other gems.

I personally love Stomp & think it's aged incredibly.

 

Light Up the World was a no-brainer for worst.
