Do you think a new Greatest Hits release would work next year after the part 2 era has closed. At that point they will have released close to 15 further singles that have not been part of the previous releases so i think it could have a appeal and they have had great success with their 2 previous greatest hits releases. One thing im not sure of though if it did happen is would there be copyright issues etc. with the them on different labels with the new material and the old material. If that side of things was easily to sort they really could release a whopper of a double cd. If they went with a one cd release say with 20 tracks what 20 songs do you think they would be best to include, of course if it happened i would expect at least 2 brand new songs to be added and also used to promote the album.

I'd really rather they at least waited one more album after Pt. 2 before even thinking about it, a 3rd GH collection any sooner would really be overkill.
Yeah, I feel like a greatest hits should be like after 5 albums personally. At the same time they e not released on I years, so who knows what they'll do.

Maybe they could re-record old hits & make an album along the same lines as Take That’s Odyssey? I don’t think a third GH with the same old versions would be worthwhile, even with the addition of newer singles to it.

It’s the 25th anniversary at the end of 2022, maybe they’ll want to mark that occasion with a hits collection of some sort...

Releasing the remixes of the old hits from their last tour, plus all the more recent singles, would be great. They were all so good, quite subtle for the most part but gave them a fresh gloss to bring them right up to date. The new versions of One For Sorrow, Tragedy and Love U More for example were all brilliant.

I wasn't a fan of Take That's Odyssey and in general I'm a huge Take That fan, I should say in general I'm not a fan of these style of albums when acts do new versions of their own songs, I'm also a big Bon Jovi fan and didn't enjoy their This left feels rights and to a lesser extent Kylies Abbey Road. For me a Greatest Hits should be a Greatest Hits as in celebrate the songs that were actually released but I'm probably in the minor with that opinion. With it their 25th Anniversary in 2022 i think a Greatest Hits to celebrate that would be great, and it could be called 25 Years, 25 Hits or Steps Quarter Century Best of.

I would say one more album and then a hits collection of the comebacks only (including Light Up The World)

Don’t need another hits collection with steps 1.0 songs on

I think Steps are one of the acts that could get away with a new greatest hits. Would be interesting to see what was kept and what was ditched.

1. 5,6,7,8

2. One for sorrow

3. Tragedy

4. Heartbeat

5. Better best forgotten

6. Love got a hold of my heart

7. Better the devil you know

8. Say you'll be mine

9. Deeper shade of blue

10. Stomp

11. The way you make me feel

12. Chain reaction

13. Scared of the dark

14. Story of a heart

15. Neon blue

16. What the future holds

17. Something in your eyes

18. Heartbreak in this city

19. SECOND song for Part 2

20. NEW song

Could work possibly?

It will be pointless release, because all their best songs are already available on Gold.

This for me would work, i would pretty much have the same track listing as you.

I think they’d more likely include Last Thing On My Mind than Say You’ll Be Mine but otherwise that tracklist certainly looks feasible.

I like both and its likely you are right as last thing on my mind was what cemented they were not a one hit wonder and it also represented there fast growing popularity and awareness. Id remove better the devil you know ahead of say youll be mine or last thing on my mind.

So basically it will be "pointless" because you don't personally like their new music?

Its not a comment i would agree with either, Neon Blue for me is one of the best songs they have ever recorded and others such as scared of the dark, story of a heart, something in your eyes and others are equally as good as some songs that were on Gold.
I don't think they should do a release which is just the newer singles - they're hardly "Greatest" or "Hits", but they could do worse than something similar to Kylie's Step Back In Time collection - a double/triple cd with a mixture of old and new.
Here's what my Tracklist would be as of the singles they've released so far

1. 5,6,7,8
2. Last Thing on My Mind
3. One for Sorrow
4. Heartbeat
5. Tragedy
6. Better Best Forgotten
7. Love’s Got a Hold on My Heart
8. After the Love Has Gone
9. Say You’ll Be Mine
10. Deeper Shade of Blue
11. Summer of Love
12. Stomp
13. It’s the Way You Make Me Feel
14. Chain Reaction
15. Scared of the Dark
16. Story of a Heart
17. Neon Blue
18. What the Future Holds
19. Something in Your Eyes
20. Heartbreak in This City [ft Michelle Visage]
BONUS
21. WTFH PT 2 (Single)
22. NEW TRACK

Disc 2 (Fan-Faves & Other Hits)
1. Better The Devil You Know
2. When I Said Goodbye
3. Here And Now
4. You'll Be Sorry [Album Version]
5. Words Are Not Enough
6. Light Up The World [7th Heaven Remix Edit]
7. Dancing With A Broken Heart
8. To The Beat of my Heart
9. Love U More [step One]
10. Never Say Never Again [steptacular]
11. Paradise Lost [buzz]
12. Baby Don't Dance [Gold - Greatest Hits]
13. Mars And Venus (We Fall In Love Again)
14. Happy [Tears On The Dancefloor]
15. To The One [What The Future Holds]

I'd love a double cd if they did do it, I agree they could do a step back in time style release that kylie did but offer a better cd 3.

Edited by Feel_The_Fever

A 2cd or 3cd edition would be great if they went down that path.

Ideally we’d get one more album after What The Future Holds pt2 thoiygh.

They could attempt to repackage Gold maybe?

I just realised it's the 20th Anniversary this year, so since they're doing What The Future Holds pt II I doubt they'll do that.
