The rules are 'whatever the OCC feels like'. 99.9% she won't be credited though, they usually only credit remixes when they are the main promoted version of the song.

Yeah it would be - I think Big Shaq's 'Man's Not Hot' still holds the title of highest charting UK drill song at the moment, matched by CJ's 'Whoopty' if you also count Brooklyn drill since that scene was basically birthed from UK drill. Headie One got a #2 hit of course but I wouldn't call 'Ain't It Different' a drill song at all, either way it wasn't a #1 anyway. (I see the treasure trove of all knowledge that is Wikipedia does tag 'Ain't It Different' as drill so your mileage may vary I guess)

Thanks. Mercifully had erased that Big Shaq track from my memory! Yep I don’t agree with categorisation of Headie One as drill. If one does then may as well count Stormzy but they are both U.K. hip hop.

‘Whoopty’ would have been the closest IMO. Surprised it fell as quickly as it rose at beginning of year to be honest (well by 2021 chart speeds)

OCC barely ever credits the remix only artists. I highly doubt they will in the case of Body since there is about 100 featured artists.

IIRC the US Billboard charts have more rigidly defined rules when it comes to this, I think it's something like a remix artist is credited once it outsells/streams the original version or something. Hence situations like Beyonce being credited on Ed Sheeran's Perfect at the start of it's run when that version was most dominant and then her credit being removed when the original was selling more.

I saw Mans Not Hot at the time as 'the last big grime hit' as the production did sound a lot like the grime genre to me, OK maybe not quite as fast listening to it now.

Wow a track with Lil Baby, Da Baby, Megan the Stallion and Post Malone can miss a top 50 entry on Spotify.

I am glad to see DJ Khaled isn’t getting a default high peak peak because of features.

Looking like Montero will be #1 again if Billie can’t get past it and Body isn’t having the same impact on Apple. Would be interesting to see where the three are with Amazon.

I think the rule regarding new mixes is that if the song has already charted the credit cannot be changed adding the person in the remix, so thats why DaBaby isn't credited in Levitating for instance cos the DaBaby-less version had already charted

same with Ariana in Save Your Tears, Beyonce in Perfect, all this bunch of people in Body etc

in the US, credits can change every week, depending on which version sells more, but the ever-changing credit is crazy too

Not quite true, Travis Scott got added to the Goosebumps credit for example, yet Stormzy never got an official credit on Power. They can change credits but typically they won't credit the remix (particularly in the case of Beyoncé in Perfect, Ari in Save Your Tears and now Miley in WITHOUT YOU where the remix isn't the version getting the main push, unlike with songs like Girls Like You where they did actually credit the new single mix)

I wonder if the remix of ‘without you’ will be enough to get it reset? The remix just debuted with 118k on Spotify combined with the original it’s sitting at 282k currently.

don't think Goosebumps is the same situation, they changed the credit cos of label shenanigans

but it's not like there was the HVME song and then they did a remix with Travis vocals

HVME remixed the original Travis songs but didn't credited him, then they made a deal with the label and

instructed the occ to change the credits

but if a song has charted and then there is a new remix with a new vocalist added, cannot recall any recent case in which the new vocalist was credited no matter if it's a big name like Beyonce or Ariana

This is literally what happened. The HVME original is a cover version of the Travis song. A remix featuring Travis' vocals was later released and the credit was changed to include him.

It's very rare that they change credits, but my point was that even if the song hasn't charted before, they don't always include the new single mix collaborator. Little Mix are the prime example of the inconsistency - No More Sad Songs and Power don't have MGK and Stormzy credited respectively (neither song had charted prior to the single mix release), while Think About Us does indeed have a Ty Dolla $ign credit and How Ya Doin'? gives Missy Elliott a credit. Hair had charted prior to the Sean Paul mix and he never got a credit so it's fair to assume Confetti will be the same for Saweetie.

There's more consistency when it comes to remixes like Savage, Perfect, Body, etc where the track is already a promoted single and the remix is an additional bonus :magic: Goosebumps is the only example I can think of where the credit was changed despite the original already being a single.

Despacito had the credit changed when the Bieber remix was released I believe?

They only changed the credit to include Bieber when it climbed to number one, but the Bieber remix was certainly around for a few weeks before that!

Spotify updated for today, body remix up to number 2 with 421k so it’s now got a massive lead at number 1 combined with 678k!

Surely gonna be number 1 this week. Not much change elsewhere in the top 10, Billie eilish down to number 6.

Edited by LiamSime

Little Mix low new entry prob mean they get a top 20 entry.

Also hope ‘Oblivion’ can become another new entry for Royal Blood!
