So if Polo G's 'Martin and Gina' very likely wont beat the record for most weeks in top 100 without making top 50 does anyone know what the record is for most weeks without making top 40?

Demo Lovato - Let It Go must be right up there if not the record. 27 weeks and peaked at #42.

Very good sales for Royal Blood, the top 5 in general are higher than i expected which is good, body looks likely to hold on to the number 1 now in the singles based on that lead

wow very good sales for Royal Blood on 27K already

and The Coral look safe for top 3 at least, crazy how their last album only did 4K and this will do at least double than that

well the entire top 5 is doing very well

I'm hearing that song by Ashe and Finneas on Radio 2 a lot and I'm a little surprised that's not made the charts

poor Finneas, kinda feel sorry for him, he's released so many singles, some great ones, besides his involvement in Billies

but nothing ever catches on...

the song was Ashe has zero playlist support, so no surprise it's a flop

Have any of his songs had big playlist pushes though? Tbf, he does have two songs over 100m (one over 200m) streams on Spotify

Kylie/Due down to #53

Does this just not highlight how useless First Look can be? That OCC did some write-up about how it would be her biggest hit in blah years etc... except 2 days later it's dropped 33 places.

(edited from last month's Spotify thread)

If it still doesn't make the Top 40, I can't think of anything that had more than 32 weeks: jointly Imagine Dragons - 'Believer' (which peaked at #42) and 45 King - 'The King Is Here' / 'The 900 Number' (which peaked at #60), so it could surpass those.

I agree they shouldn't have written about it possibly being Kylie's 52nd Top 40 hit. It's obvious that vinyl releases are hugely frontloaded - there was that Rolling Stones one that went from #9 in First Look to #61 on the Friday, and similar for Joy Division which was something like #12 then missed the Top 75.

I’m sure the OCC realise this but didn’t want a lot of pissed off Kylie fans in the facebook comments section if they dared to suggest she has absolutely no chance of staying top 40.

I reckon if they're using these midweeks to drum up anticipation (and possibly get people to campaign for their favourites) for the official chart, the last thing they want to do is acknowledge its shortcomings, making people wonder why they would even read the midweeks if they aren't an accurate projection.

7 Teenage Fanclub - Endless Arcade *

37 Yoko Takahashi & Megumi Hayashibara - Evangelion Finally *

Great to see Teenage Fanclub doing so well even after losing Gerard Love as a member/songwriter. Hopefully they'll stay top 20 by the end of the week.

Also great to see an anime-related album in the album midweeks. "Neon Genesis Evangelion" is regarded as one of the greatest anime TV shows of all-time, and the soundtrack has had a vinyl release this week from the look of it.

First Look is generally rubbish for accurate info on how the charts could end up but on the flip side it gives some exposure to artists who are long past their Radio 1 sell by date by giving their song a play when they do show up randomly.

It doesn’t seem right that levitating hasn’t gotten a reset, I know it needs a 25% increase but it just doesn’t seem fair. It’s went from hanging around the 40 ish region to the mid 20’s now and been on acr the whole time- that’s a pretty big increase overall.

Levitating was 100% robbed of a reset! Still fuming till this day about it

It's charting highly and reaching new peaks all over the world except in the UK because of its stupid chart rules

Yeah it’s already peaked at #5 here, and if it was taken off acr it wouldn’t quite reach that yet. But tbh if it keeps going the way it’s going I could see it outpeaking that on scr- but I think it’s chance is over now I can’t see it getting reset.

If Levitating had peaked at #11 and now could have a chance at reaching the top 10, I would get it, but Levitating had a really decent first run and peak.

It’s been a single for 84 years, let her go.
