May 27, 20214 yr Just a side question: am I allowed to do a potential list reveal for the June spin-off contest lol? I know when I do potentials, I usually end up in a terrible position but I don't care lmao.
May 27, 20214 yr Aww, was hoping to get my first top 30 of the year, but I can't complain when I didn't expect to make the final in the first place. Thanks to any fans I didn't thank yet (and again to Tartford, turns out that's the first 18 we've received in almost a year!). Some great results beyond that, pleased to have voted for 7 of the top 10! A bit disappointed that Hushkanukia and Kylienips fell so far from the top 10 </3 Thanks for hosting Jake and congrats on winning again!
May 27, 20214 yr Congratulations Jake, many thanks to everyone who voted for Riva Taylor, the change of direction in our entries has worked, we'll have to wait and see what we follow up next.
May 27, 20214 yr ey wait what the hell I wasn't expecting it to go THIS good I was enjoying a small bit of hype (no odds thread mentions really, surprise smash!) but I never truly thought it would do that well. And so many high points from people that I hadn't called, seriously, thank you everyone, that was really fun to follow and getting an unexpected medal position out of it has really far exceeded my expectations for this entry  Justice well and truly served, I'd almost forgotten how good it feels to have a smash. congratulations Jake, and thanks for hosting so well, I suppose it really was a wide-appealing song, I really enjoyed it though, so great winner. Also great to see Cumulonimbia, New Lexico and FSR Rontvia also in the top 10, and my top 2 in Arcodesia and Persephonia doing well in the top 20, nice results.
May 27, 20214 yr Fun stat: 'Boy Like A Girl' has smashed the record for the most voted song in the contest's history with 47 votes! The previous record holder was Highasakite's 'Golden Ticket' with 45 votes and that was in BJSC 100 which naturally had a somewhat inflated number of voters for everyone due to the incomparable participation numbers for the contest - excluding that, the next best to date was 44 votes which was achieved by both The Naked And Famous' 'Higher' and... one of FARC's own previous winners, Salt Ashes' 'Save It'. The gap between the two most voted for songs is also a new record - this month's second most voted for song (Varakë) had 35 votes for a gap of 12, the previous record (if I've jigged with my spreadsheet correctly) was a gap of 11 in BJSC 71 (35 votes for Altyr Muunilinst to 24 votes each for FSR Rontvia & Ramrynia). There were 64 votes in total so, excluding FARC themselves, there were just 16 countries who did not vote for Stockholm Noir :o
May 27, 20214 yr That was a bit all over the place, so all things considered, I'll take the last ~10 votes or so pushing me up to 13th! WELL DONE JAKE AGAIN, an unstoppable force! Very clean hosting also <3
May 27, 20214 yr yay so happy with 9th for Camille...Untouched finishing Top 10 twice :kink: jokes aside I am glad it found a success and very much thank you everyone who voted for us  and third Top 10 of the year :o :cheer:
May 28, 20214 yr Wooooooooo! Wow I’m so happy  Two 18’s is amazing huuuuge thank you there plus the other 29 people who threw points my way, with 31 votes total i was the third most votes for entry (if I’m reading it right) :cheer:
May 28, 20214 yr Congrats Jake! A great contest again with a fantastic winner! I'm really happy with 24th, thanks Everyone voting for 'Invisible' :cheer:
May 28, 20214 yr Also, Mulgracia didn’t deserve to come last in the final. Someone who gets it!! I don't understand what was so bad about the song for it to be so underwhelming and finish last :(
May 28, 20214 yr Thanks Jake & Leww for hosting and congrats Jake & Leww for a double top :D Good to see most of our faves do well, and on with the next one
May 28, 20214 yr Someone who gets it!! I don't understand what was so bad about the song for it to be so underwhelming and finish last :( It didn't deserve last, it's the UK Eurovision factor where large numbers of tracks hoover up the points and leave some decent tracks just getting consistently pipped... :o
May 28, 20214 yr There were 64 votes in total so, excluding FARC themselves, there were just 16 countries who did not vote for Stockholm Noir :o:o wow! I didn't actually vote for it but it was right on the edge and was in my lower points for a while before I swapped it out. Very nearly made it 48. Good winner! Glad to see Seyetana doing so well, a real shame to see countries like Scherzland and Sandeborg so low. Scherzland is just so feel good, thought it would do better. Didn't realise that was my first medal position for Arcodesia! It was tight between those top 3, I thought about swapping them round a few times. Ultraviolenceland isn't usually the kind of song that hits me, but the bassline is pretty solid and it just grabbed me in final listenthroughs, don't know why! Just very catchy. Thought that one might have been top 10 actually but results seem to be fairly unpredictable at the moment. :o
May 28, 20214 yr 39 110 D'yermak'er // KUČKA - Drowning wot! Another great winner, fully deserved, good to see a lot of my favs hitting the top 10 especially another FSR Rontvia 18 pointer. Fully here for being re-introduced to Bentley's Gonna Sort You Out too - what an excellent song
May 28, 20214 yr persephonia We're happy to finally be giving an 18, surprisingly for the first time ever, to Cumulonimbia with an absolutely lovely electronic song (with a bit of an Alicia Keys flavour as I embarrassingly don't think I'd have noticed if it wasn't pointed out during the listenthroughs). With this they have now received one each of our gold, silver and bronze positions in BJSC finals (their previous best being the 15 points for Kevin Abstract in BJSC 98) which again feels like a lot less than such a consistently enjoyable country deserves, but it seems they do just have a frequent habit of finishing somewhere between 4th and 6th for us. Oh, haha- I had actually joked that you'd be the first (and only person) to spot the Alicia Keys sample in there - slightly shocked but happy you didn't actually spot it initially as it makes it probably a lot less veto worthy than I was worried about it being. Really pleased that you and so many others enjoyed it though, especially Leww who basically I sent it for because it had Aeroche BANGAH written all over it. *.* Thanks to all who supported Daniel Bortz and great to see at least one of our faves (Self Esteem) in the Top 10, though I had hoped that Hard Feelings and Real Lies would be up there too. But yeah, Rontvia on a very strong run at the moment IMO. Congrats to Jake too, a back-to-back win is mighty impressive - it was another good song and literally just outside my votes in 16th place but looks like you didn't need the Cumulonimbian support anyway. x
May 28, 20214 yr especially Leww who basically I sent it for because it had Aeroche BANGAH written all over it. *.* if that's what people perceive my sound to be like then i am flattered! what an excellent entry - thank you so much for the discovery and easily the best thing sent to any BJSC contest this year.
May 28, 20214 yr That was v disappointing after the odds (I would’ve accepted 14th but that further push down after the results were checked 😭). Glad some of y’all made a discovery out of it tho ❤️❤️
May 28, 20214 yr btw thank you guys so much for 2nd and for 1st in the semi! unlike everyone else who maybe didn't have it on their radar, i felt extremely confident in this one so i'm glad the nicheness paid off! it was quite entertaining/nervy to see people underpredict it especially knowing how i felt / what i knew about it in the semis! well done jakeybb, a STORMER of a song.
