Regarding Feed Your Love being a demo, the official line is that it is... this is from their latest mailer:

The Digital EP of Wannabe25 is out today! The EP features the original track alongside the Junior Vasquez remix as well as the ‘Wannabe’ demo and for the first time ever, the ‘Feed Your Love’ demo.

As we know, Feed Your Love was only recorded in a bare bones/preparative way, before they decided that they wouldn't go ahead with making a final version of it. It seems it has been polished up a bit so that its quality is more palatable for streaming/purchase, but I don't think that in itself means that it's no longer a demo.

Biff said this about Feed Your Love on his live:

He regards it as "semi finished, but still a demo - not completely finished". Later on he referred to it as a "high end demo". Melanie C didn't record ad-libs because of decision not to include it on album. The decision not to include is because of the racy nature of the song, even though they all loved. Had it been used, Biff says he would have made it shorter. He thinks it's too long with too many choruses.

Biff has also said that all four songs have been remastered, even though we thought Wannabe and the Junior Vasquez remixes are unchanged. I personally can't tell any differences but I'll take his word for it!

Biff says that what happens with demos isn't his decision, but the girls' decision. But that "there is stuff going on" regarding other demos. :cheeseblock:

I have to say I'm in love with Feed your love, it actually feels like a modern mature Spice Girls song that I'd want them to make now if they made new music. It be 90s but more grown up and sultry, throw in a couple of nice ballads and some bops and I'd be more than satisfied with that as a new album.

The chorus I've been repeating out loud all day.

Feed Your Love is pure sex. Mel B's sensual and seductive vocals really shine on the track. I was expecting the verses to be downright filthy, but was pleasantly surprised at how romantic they are.

I'm so happy the girls opened the archives. I hope there is more hidden gems to come later in the year.

I really think there will be; it would be silly for them not to unlock those old recordings especially after all of the love and positivity that's coming from Feed Your Love alone.

I know a lot of fans quote Melanie C on this issue by reciting her "b-sides are b-sides for a reason" quote, but I have two problems with that.

1) Music is art, and art is subjective. One man's trash is another man's treasure.

2) As far as b-sides go, I have a hard time putting stock into what Melanie C considers "b-side" material seeing as she has a notable history of having some really stellar b-sides that are better than some of the tracks that made her albums; especially during the Reason and This Time eras. Don't get me wrong, I will always support Melanie C releasing new records, especially after the beauty of her latest one, but even though she has dragged WOMAN repeatedly, releasing it couldn't do any harm to the Spice Girls' legacy. This is the same group that thought Headlines was a suitable comeback single. A ballad. It's not a terrible song, but, they chose a friggen ballad over a more dance-able track when their fans just want to party with them. They would have probably had a #1 in 2007 had they released Never Give Up On The Good Times with a nice video instead of that lingerie ad. #SueMe :music:

Thanks for sharing that link; after listening to Biff in that live, I understand now that usually what transforms a demo to a finished song is a re-recording or addition of vocals.

Biffs livestream was v great. I have a feeling we are getting more this year.

Also interesting the girls have new management, no more Simon fuller

It would have been nice to have Mel C's adlibs on Feed Your Love, but her absence doesn't make or break the song for me. My only criticism is the song could have been a minute shorter, which Biff admitted himself. That is a easy fix that a fan can do.

The song definitely should have been 2 Become 1's b-side. Can't believe this little gem of a song has been locked away for 25 years. Yeah, I have a pretty good feeling we will be getting a few more unreleased tracks this year.

Agreed! One Of These Girls is my least favourite b-side from the Spice Girls.

One of The Girls and Outer Space Girls are probably my least favourite songs from the Spice Girls catalogue. Honestly, never liked them. Just too cheesy and not in a punk-Wannabe way.

Interesting, Outer Space Girls is one of my favourites! I thought it was such a wacky over the top song and the girls were so huge at that time, it really made sense to me that they were trying to take over the rest of the solar system. :yahoo:
