From the cover singles what is your fave and least fave

Worst - I Think We’re Alone Now

Definitely not some of their best songs :lol:

 

My favourite has to be Jump. A song I do like very much, and happy how it turned their career around, but I would never describe it as a highlight in their back catalogue.

 

Worst has to be See The Day, closely followed by Walk This Way. I do like I'll Stand By You quite a lot, beautiful version, and I've always liked the album version of I Think We're Alone Now. The single edit wasn't so exciting for me though.

I really like I think were alone now so gave it a vote as I have a feeling no one else will but that and jump are my faves.

Walk this way I dont like at all and I'm not hugely keen on see the day either.

I didn't actually know the originals of any of these tracks before the GA versions came out (I mean, Jump came out when I was 6 :kink:) so these feel like the originals to me. I think Jump and I'll Stand By You feel like essential GA tracks despite being covers, they really put their stamp on both songs in particular I think.

I knew all the originals and I think overall they done a good job with the covers except for walk this way .

Best - Jump.

Worst - Walk This Way.

Fave: Jump

Least fave: I had to think about this one... for many years I would have said I Think We’re Alone Now. Now... I probably like Walk This Way the least.

1. I'll Stand By You (this worked really well, gave a lovely winter ballad pop sheen to a song that was previously more rocky)

2. See The Day (I feel like this is slightly underrated, although it was clearly an attempt to recreate I'll Stand By You)

3. I Think We're Alone Now (it's decent enough)

4. Jump (even though it was big for them and the right move for their career at the time, I was never particularly into this and disappointed that Some Kind of Miracle didn't get a push)

5. Walk This Way (my least favourite single of theirs)

 

But agreed that their originals were their strength, thankfully. Even I'll Stand By You I don't listen to much from choice anymore.

Best - See The Day (robbed Christmas # 1)

Worst - Jump

 

All five songs are much better than originals, especially "See The Day" and "Walk This Way".

 

From other covers I love their version of "Hanging On The Telephone"

Good to see I think were alone now getting votes for best apart from myself.

I expected walk this way to walk the least fave vote so this is a big surprise.

Aww I loved I’ll stand by you. I miss Girls Aloud soooo much :cry:

I do enjoy I'll stand by you and ta I agree they are really missed

I've always loved their version of I Think Were Alone Now so had to vote for it, love the video as well, I actually really like all the songs here and was close to voting for I'll Stand By You. For bottom of the pile it had to be Walk This Way even if it was an iconic collab.

I do to, I know its hugely popular among the fans but I have always enjoyed their version of I think we're alone now.
