Certainly still a battle on for the second promotion spot! The Nottingham vs Bournemouth game that's still to be played looks like it could potentially be a key one.

^ I was hoping that the race for the second automatic spot would go to the final game. Great news for Bournemouth also with the news about David Brooks being cancer free.

This just leaves the final 2 promotion play off places to be decided this weekend.

Yeh nice to see about Brooks.

Didn’t even realise Kiefer Moore had moved to Bournemouth, some strength in depth amongst the relegated clubs with the parachute payments.

A very good day for Bournemouth and of course it's great news that David Brooks has the all clear now. I think Bournemouth will have a better chance than Fulham of staying up next season.
I’m not so sure Fulham we’re unreal at times this season so it all depends on whether Mitrovic turns up for the premier league next season as he was unreal with his 43 goals this season (so far, breaking Guy Whittinghams record) and whether they can retain Harry Wilson from Liverpool. I know their third player in the strike force the wonderfully gift Carvalho who looks certain to sign for Liverpool in the summer.

In this division, for Forest or anyone else to get to so close to relegated sides is such a fantastic achievement. To do so when you've given the rest of the league a 7 game head start is absolutely unbelievable. Forest have been incredible in recent weeks, the best Forest team I've ever watched but it's a relatively small squad. A couple of forwards out injured and we've nothing on the bench to turn to, the second half was the poorest we've played in a long while but the gap between the first XI and the rest is significant. On the opposite side Bournemouth couldn't even find room for Jamal Lowe, Todd Cantwell or Morgan Rodgers in their 18 man squad, which is where those PPs come in.

Parachute payments meant there were four clubs in this division who have higher revenue than any other club before they've sold a ticket, player or piece of merchandise. The depth that Bournemouth are able to carry is just so difficult to compete with. Unlike some others who get them, they have at least sold a significant number of players for big fees too. Ake, Ramsdale, Wilson and Danjuma since they've gone down.

As for who does better next season, it's hard to tell. Bournemouth are up because of their early form and have been a top 8/10 side for the final two thirds of the season, it's hard to have faith they'll step up well. Fulham's promotion has been won by the same players who got them relegated before. I think it's obvious that Silva is a better manager than Parker and may well get more out of Mitrovic in the PL as he plays to his strengths but again, will still need significant improvement in the squad.

The first club in the playoff final has been unveiled tonight as Huddersfield beat Luton Town 1-0 and 2-1 on agg as Jordan Rhodes scored a late winner.
What a game the Forest Sheff Utd one was tonight - scintillating watch!

Shame it was marred by the incident at the end for Billy Sharp.

Huddersfield Town Vs Nottingham Forest is the final.

I am hoping for a return to the Premier League for Nottingham Forest.

Anymore hopes/predictions for this?

I hope Nottingham Forrest win as well and I think they will. It's been a long time since they were in the Premier League so rather them than Huddersfield.

A fan has been jailed after running on to a pitch and headbutting a footballer at the end of Nottingham Forest's play-off match with Sheffield United.

Billy Sharp, Sheffield United's captain, was attacked after his side lost to Forest on penalties.

Sharp was knocked to the ground and required four stitches to his lip.

Forest season ticket holder Robert Biggs, 30, pleaded guilty to assault occasioning actual bodily harm and was jailed for 24 weeks.

At Nottingham Magistrates' Court on Thursday, Biggs, from Church View, Ilkeston, Derbyshire, was ordered to pay £500 compensation to Sharp, £85 in costs and a £128 victim surcharge.

He was also given a 10-year football banning order.

Steve Cooper puts the icing on the cake on what has been a remarkable job since he took over at Forest. Will be good to see them back in the top flight.
