Erm what, we actually won?? :o Wasn't expecting that at all but good on them and two decent goals as well. Of course this means we'll almost certainly lose 2-1 to Sweden or Ukraine in the next round.

Germany were even worse than I thought they’d be- apart from that first 20 minutes they were shocking :rofll:
If England don't get to the final now there will be no excuses.

Pretty disrespectful to Ukraine, Sweden Denmark and Czech Rep. all capable of beating each other on their day.

Amazing result, I'm so happy!!!

I didn't think we were gonna win

For some reason since Portugal, France and the Netherlands have fallen, I just knew Germany was next on the hit list, just seems to be the season of the underdogs.
Southgate changing things again and yet everybody else thinks they know better than him….

Let's celebrate with this iconic bop!

Of course anything can happen in a one off match as yesterday proved but England's squad quality wise is better than all of those teams so they should not have any excuses if they don't make it to the final.

Tbh Germany were the underdogs here so with that logic they should have won lol.

Yeh it’s true on paper but international football is about the ‘team’ rather than individuals as shown perfectly lastnyt in the France Swiss game.

I think yesterday's match shows NOTHING can be predicted accurately so I'm avoiding thinking 'there's no chance we're not at the semis/final' for now!

anyway, YAAAYYYY :cheer: :yahoo: I was so scared at the start of the second half it would be a turgid game ending in penalties, but those goals were great (About time for Kane!). I sensed that it was time that that old adage that Germany always beat us should be tested given the last World Cup changed a lot of myths about us and whatever happens next, I think we can already leave with pride!

At some point people might recognise Southgate knows what he's doing, superb performance. After the first 15 minutes really thwarted Germany, creating few chances but they're good ones and that can be all you need with the quality up front. Shaw immense, Trippier not far behind.
I'm far from an expert but I thought they looked pretty decent today so it was nice to see them put in a good performance. I'm not sure I've seen any side be consistently good so far though so it all feels very much up for grabs for any of the sides left.

This morning it had been 55 years since England won a tournament knockout game against Germany. It's now just over half an hour.

The first time in my life and it feels weirdly important.

I can't quite believe England won lmao. Shocking miss from Muller - it would've made for a very different game towards the end if Germany equalised.

Credit to England as being the only team to have not conceded a goal yet in the tournament. Pickford making some important saves again this match

Nothing in club football can compare to the euphoria of beating your rivals in an international tournament. I'm absolutely buzzing.

COME ON ENGLAND!!!
