'Ghosttown' has always been average (or worse) to these ears, don't hate me x

I do wonder how Rebel Heart may have played out if Ghosttown had been the lead and she had performed that at The Brits instead.

Great song... but the video isn't quite as good as it could have been.

Yes the video doesn't quite work does it, it's a good theme but I always think it looks a bit low budget for what it is

I dont think it would have made any difference if it was the lead.

Yeah, she'd been dumped by commercial radio by that point so it would have made zero difference sadly.

Would have been an easy smash for her 7 or 8 years previously though.

guess Im alone on that one, but not a fan of Ghostown, not a bad song but really not on the same league as her old ballads

Ghosttown is everything she should be doing at this stage of her career. It plays to her strengths vocally, lyrically it's classic Madonna and it's able to stand up against her classic singles, even if it doesn't quite hit the same highs.

| 15. Get Together 8.73

Into the top 15 now and Get Together is out. The third single from the album (chosen after its popularity following the album's release), it has since matured into a fan favourite and that's shown here with its superb average. Released to coincide with the start of the Confessions Tour, the electro-pop banger is about finding love on the dancefloor and changing the course of the future in doing so. A hugely sensual song, with a pulsating instrumentation, it's a superb representation of the album, its aims lyrically and its sound. The music video for the song was an animated version of Madonna's performance of the song at London's Koko Club. The Grammy nominated song was inspired by Stardust's single "Music Sounds Better with You" and truly the sentiment couldn't be more true than when listening to this beauty.

Get Together is bloody brilliant, and would be in my Top 10 every time. I can never decide which is my fav track from Confessions, either Jump or Get Together. Loved this track from the first time I heard it and have never grown tired of it. Just perfect.
Get together is a contender for my favourite Madonna song ever !! Happy it’s so high up !!
It didn't stand out to me when I first got Confessions and I was a bit errr at it being a single over 'Jump', but suffice to say over time it's grown on me significantly and it's now an absolute essential for me. A pulsating, euphoric banger,

Get Together is really Meh! for me.

It's good in it's place on Confessions, but not what I would have considered single material.

It needs to come back to a tour setlist.

This love for Get Together! it's in my top 5 of hers easily and I think it's become my Confessions favourite too. Deserved 10+ places higher here!
I wasn’t huge on Get Together back in 2005/6, it was overshadowed by the other singles and a number of album tracks. I’m still not ready to rank it as highly as Sorry, Hung Up or Future Lovers but it’s an excellent song. I’m also very partial to the mix she used on the tour (as well as the vocals).

| 14. Express Yourself 8.75

Express Yourself, the second single from Like a Prayer and it was the first song that Madonna and producer Stephen Bray worked on for the album. The hugely empowering song is about female strength and ensuring that females don't settle for second best. It is almost a rejection of the aspects of the work that preceeded the album as it strives for personal wealth as opposed to material goods. A huge commercial success and one of her signature songs even today, it has continued to inspire future generations and encourage them to express themselves with pride and confidence. The David Fincher direct music video was inspired by Fritz Lang masterpiece Metropolis. With a budget of $5 million, it was the most expensive music video made up until that point (and currently the 3rd most expensive).

A couple of great singles there - Get Together is such a stand out, completely different to anything else in her discography and works so much better than when most acts try to do dance music. I’d love to hear it when I’m out, it would be amazing!

Express Yourself is such an anthem. It’s probably underrated these days but in 1989 it was quite a statement to make a song so obviously about female empowerment, a lot of my female friends at school really resonated with the message. It’s really appropriate that it inspired Born This Way, another empowering track for a new generation

Express Yourself such an anthem where sales dont much its status.
