Posted July 8, 20213 yr Atomic Kitten's Official Top 10 biggest songs revealed 07 July 2021 | By Rob Copsey The surprise return of Atomic Kitten, who have reworked their song Whole Again into a football anthem for Euro 2020, came as somewhat of a shock - not least because it features new vocals from member Jenny Frost, who last performed with the group 13 years ago. The song, called Southgate You're The One - Football's Coming Home Again, arrives ahead of England's semi-final clash against Denmark. The track is released through Sony, who unveiled it to the genuine surprise of just about everyone yesterday (July 6). “It’s been a whirlwind couple of days, but we are super excited and grateful to be able to contribute to the awesome energy and patriotism that is filling the England streets with this version of Whole Again," Atomic Kitten - Natasha Hamilton, Liz McClarnon and Jenny Frost - said. "Totally inspired by the England football fans in support of Gareth Southgate and the super talented England football team, we will be singing loud and proud ‘Football’s Coming Home!'" The concept behind the reworked track isn't entirely new - football fans have been singing chants to the tune of Whole Again for the past few years, and Atomic Kitten considered re-recording it in 2018. Atomic Kitten's Top 10 biggest songs Perhaps unsurprisingly, Whole Again is Atomic Kitten's biggest song on the Official Chart, racking up 1.28 million chart sales since its release in 2001, including 29.5 million streams. The track was famously a last shot at a hit for the group, with original member Kerry Katona leaving midway through promotion, replaced by Jenny before its release. Whole Again shot to Number 1 and spent four weeks at the summit, finishing as the UK's fourth best-selling single that year. The trio's second biggest song is a cover of The Tide Is Hight (Get The Feeling), which claimed three weeks at Number 1 in 2002 and has 651,000 chart sales to date. Rounding out the Top 3 is Eternal Flame, a cover of The Bangles' classic that topped the chart for two weeks in 2001, on 446,000. July 8, 20213 yr Author 'Whole Again' was certified 2x Platinum 67 weeks ago; ~1,194 chart sales per week. 'The Tide is High' was certified Platinum 54 weeks ago; ~944 chart sales per week. Some totals from the year end charts: 218,000 It's OK (end of 2002) 114,000 Last Goodbye / Be With You (end of 2002) 91,000 Ladies Night (end of 2004) 82,000 Right Now (end of 1999) 81,000 See Ya (end of 2000) 72,000 I Want Your Love (end of 2000) 69,000 If You Come With Me (end of 2003)
July 8, 20213 yr If You Come To Me deserves better. Probably one of my favourite all out MOR mid-tempo ballads. So good! Happy to see 'The Last Goodbye'/'Be With You' top 5! Both are top 5 AK singles for me. Edit: I'd be v interested to see where 'You Are' would have placed had it not been cancelled and given a full release at the time. I remember it being all over the video channels!
July 8, 20213 yr I had hoped eternal flame was much closer to platinum than it actually is. I just can't see people picking Atomic Kitten's Eternal Flame over The Bangles tbh.
July 8, 20213 yr Cancelling You Are was such a waste of what would have probably been a big #3/#4 hit. Such a good song and it had decent hype around it before the release was canned, I reckon it would have been fifth or sixth on this list. Edited July 8, 20213 yr by gooddelta
July 8, 20213 yr You Are is my favourite! :( Honestly they don't have a bad single for me :wub; so consistent! (until the Cilla cover + the football song :kink: but from Right Now to Cradle 2005 x)
July 8, 20213 yr I just can't see people picking Atomic Kitten's Eternal Flame over The Bangles tbh. THIS! 'Eternal Flame' is a bona fide 80s classic (and one of my all-time faves) and they totally ruined it for me.
July 8, 20213 yr You Are is my favourite! :( Same, by far! I'll forever be aggrieved about its cancellation.
July 8, 20213 yr One of my very first favourite artists I had; every single a banger (if I ignore post-2005 material). I'd say my favourite is Be With You, a gorgeous song.
July 8, 20213 yr Updated my signature to support their World Cup smash! My avatar is Mason Mount because... Do I have to explain? ;) Edited July 8, 20213 yr by Dot Branning
July 8, 20213 yr The first girl group I ever stanned  It's so nice to see the best line-up together again after so long!
July 8, 20213 yr Yeah the You Are cancellation was so strange! It felt like it was on constant rotation on the music channels. I'm sure it would have been a hit!
July 9, 20213 yr Yeah the You Are cancellation was so strange! It felt like it was on constant rotation on the music channels. I'm sure it would have been a hit! I'm guessing the record label had an idea how it would perform based on pre-orders and they thought it might've broken their run of singles at that point; I'm guessing they feared it would miss the top ten after two number one singles (a time when missing the top ten was a catastrophe for pop acts - especially as AK was nearly dropped after Follow Me hit #20).
July 9, 20213 yr Whole again is their best track. Don't care if its a mainstream opinion, I stand by the fact that Whole Again is absolutely their best track. Pop perfection!
July 9, 20213 yr Whole Again (Kerry’s Version) is their best song, closely followed by Be With You. I Want Your Love is an underrated BOP!
