I have had 'Sacrifice', 'Take My Breath' and 'How Do I Make You Love Me?' all stuck on loop in my head all day. That opening run of tracks is really amazing.

I still can't identify what 'Sacrifice' is reminding me of though - think it might be a Tame Impala song?

I've tried a few times to get into The Weeknd. This album definitely resonates with me. I think the whole concept is just amazing and the execution was pretty much flawless.

Gasoline took a minute to click, but wow. A moment.

I actually think the top of the album should go: Dawn FM -- How Do I Make You Love Me? -- Take My Breath -- Gasoline.

HDIMYLM and Take My Breath. The transition. My God.

Same thing with Best Friend -- Is There Someone Else? -- Starry Eyes. These three together fit flawlessly.

I usually throw my favorite tracks into a playlist and select Shuffle but this album really has me thinking about how I structure my playlists and not just pressing shuffle all the time.

Less Than Zero you can confidently gloat to your straight mates that it's a Girls Aloud cover and they'd probably never question it (it's not, obviously). Here for his OUT OF CONTROL Era next

From the beginning to 'Out of Time' this was sounding amazing, but it completely loses it after that for the next few and that section is such a slog to get through. Plus I need to be honest, a whole album of his whiny voice is a bit much to stomach and I can't be doing with those slow meandering tracks.

It picks up again at the 'Angel' interlude, and I think the concept is brilliantly executed. I might just make a playlist cutting out that run of tracks in the middle.

Also seeing three additional tracks to the album today;

Take My Breath (Remix) (feat. Agents of Time)

Sacrifice (Remix) (with Swedish House Mafia)

Moth To A Flame (Swedish House Mafia with The Weeknd)

This is disappointing and oddly boring?

I like the concept and especially liked the idea of a filthy club record but there is absolutely no edge to it. It’s too cohesive — an odd complaint, but the production and lyrical themes just become too samey. It could have been so much more, which just annoys me. Someone send Abel to Berlin to try again x

Clubs are closed here yet again so tell him to wait a bit :')

tbh he started losing this edge right after the mixtapes with no going back so are we at all surprised?

I've listened to it twice now and I'm finding it has more replay value than 'After Hours' did for me. It's still nowhere near the heights of Beauty Behind the Madness & Starboy.

I've been completely won over by this now. I'm just skipping over the interludes and even the tracks that I originally thought were dull and would never grow on me, have ended up doing so. Apart from 'Starry Eyes' which is now the only track that I don't particularly care for. A huge return to form after finding 'After Hours' pretty hit and miss.

Yep not feeling it like everyone else seems to be

:o

I'm shocked! “Gasoline” is a certified BANGER! *.*

It's the late night driving along the motorway classic that we needed for early '22.

Yeah 'Less Than Zero' has blossomed into my firm favourite too  hope it can take off in a big way a la 'Save Your Tears' post album

I can definitely see Less Than Zero taking off in a big way and becoming the best performing track from this album. With a remix (like Save Your Tears) can see it being a top 5 hit here and a US #1 but even without a remix the song alone feels like it’s the albums main hit if it gets a push.

It’s standing out a lot for me and works being the closing track of the album before the spoken outro.

Out of Time is also sounding amazing! Very MJ off the wall era vibes but so so good. The albums sounding better the more I hear it, it works a lot as a whole album listen rather than cherry picking tracks but so far I’m really enjoying it. Also it’s #1 in the UK his third #1 album and the first 2022 released album to top the chart as well and I’m very happy to see Sacrifice made top 10 albeit just so the eras had at least one top ten hit here now.

Anyone else feel male artist wise of the current artists he’s just in a league of his own? I don’t think any other male right now does visuals, album concepts, performances and has his passion he’s by far my favourite male artist at present cannot wait to see the tour now!

Playlist updates today:

Sacrifice is B List on Radio 1 and A List on Radio 2

I Heard You're Married is B List on 1Xtra

wow shocked he missed the top in the US, but his streams haven't been great, he didn't get any song in the top 10 singles either :/ I thought Sacrifice going top 10 was a given

The projections had him super close with Gunna so this isn't a huuuge shock but I did still think he'd pull it off in the end - would have easily done it with a co-ordinated physical release but nevermind.

I have faith that 'Less Than Zero' can easily be a hit later down the line maybe with a remix a la 'Save Your Tears'.

Huge lack of taste in the US is showing.

I'd love to see Less Than Zero get a summer single release and be the #1 it deserves!
