I’ve heard this song so many times but can’t say I ever knew who it was by! Great song but I do love all the other 97 number ones more than it apart from maybe No Doubt as it has been overplayed now!

Incredible for Your Woman to end up #6, amazing song

It was always charming, largely because it sounded like it had been recorded in his bedroom and was in a world of its own musically. I still think it was a breath of fresh air - but I also think still think its a bit temporarily flattered due to Dua.
I really like 'Love Again' but I did have 'Your Woman' as high as #6 in my favourite top 40 hits of 1997 countdown a good year before that came out, just a great song <3

predictions

1 Frozen

2 Baby One More Time

3 Believe

4 Stay

5 Don't look back in anger

although my personal ranking right now is probably more like:

1 Stay

2 Don't look back in ager

3 Frozen

4 Baby one more time

and a long long long way behind

5 Believe

I like both Frozen and Baby one more time, so don't mind which one wins...

really hope it's not Cher :o

I would say:

1 Britney :(

2 Madonna - Frozen

3 Cher

4 Shakespeare’s Sister

5 Oasis

That’s not what I would like it to be, but *shrug*

I love that Your Woman surprised us all.

Frozen for number 1 please.

My top 5 prediction:

1 Britney

2 Cher

3 Madonna

4 Oasis

5 Shakespeare’s Sister

No surprise that Britney is our favourite No 1 of 1999 but it will surprise some that it misses the top 4 including Chrissmith276 who makes it his favourite No 1 of the decade.

Obviously Baby One More Time is a classic but there's probably a whole album worth of Britney songs that I'd rather listen to. Still pleased she's done so well!
It's a decent song and I can hear the numerous hooks in it but I'd ather listen to Stronger or Overprotected if I want the same buzz.

HUZZAH

I can now say I like every song remaining in this countdown

I agree - if I'm really in the mood for early-era Britney (which is very rare) - I'd go for Stronger or perhaps You Drive Me (Crazy) over Baby One More Time.

I’m most pleased that Britney didn’t win. It’s a good pop song but it was nowhere near my votes.
One of the songs that redefined pop music for the 21st century. She was never going to better this imho.
