This is going to be massive for her, general public will lap it up I think. Seems as they already are tbh! Only seeing positive things outside of forums, lucky she’s got the Barbz on her side too.

She’s just hit number 1 on US iTunes too!

It's doing incredibly well - Number 1 on US iTunes is amazing!

I was wondering have LM ever managed that? If not they totally deserved to have too!

Update: Number 1 in 25 countries

a lot of people conveniently forget their white favs have always pulled moves like this, with Ariana's being the tip of iceberg as her song was massive, but for some reason Jesy gets the brunt of it because she's an easy target

not that Jesy shouldn't receive criticism for her actions, she definitely should, but i feel like a lot of people are giving their opinion/drags as a "gotcha" moment rather than wanting her to actually learn.

This.

I personally think a lot of the criticism aimed at her is from people who (wrongly) don’t believe her reasons for leaving the band match with her actions.

She should be called out absolutely, but people are taking pleasure in the dragging and it’s uncomfortable.

I think there's more to this than being an easy target?

She's blocked her supporters whenever she's been asked about it or being rude? She's not even acknowledged it despite people asking her not to (MNEK). It's such a sensitive subject and she continues to do it, that's why she's a target.

This is an absolute REACH. Thing is we don't know what happened behind the scenes and MNEK has freedom of speech and to call out something he doesn't agree with.

Just because he worked with someone previously or was even friends with them, doesn't stop him being able to say how he feels.

how can anyone morally agree to work with someone or be friends with someone they don't agree with their behaviour or conduct? It'd be like a evangelist Christian beings friends with a married gay couple

i'm not defending jesy's actions, i'm just not applauding MNEK's.

Agreed, it feels like a take down. it’s especially funny to see people who were the first to be like “I miss Jesy!!!!” and preaching about mental health when she left Little Mix, are now leading the jokes on Popjustice for likes. Someone does need to sit down with Jesy and educate her (I’m sure people have tried) but it’s all very mean right now.

The girls have never hit number 1 on US iTunes which is a pure shame as they’ve come close a couple of times.

Madness that she’s iTunes number one in over 25 countries! Fair play.

Nah, I feel the same about any blackfishing. I must admit, I didn't quite realise about Ariana at the time but I've been vocal about it before with over Love Islanders, Kardashians, Drag Queens etc.

It has also only recently become a huge topic and Jesy has been so unapologetic with it with blocking people or deleting comments and not even WANTING to learn. Stop telling people to not be upset or annoyed omg and mental health isn't an excuse, I suffer from anxiety/depression and I would never dream of doing what Jesy is doing. I feel for her and really supported her journey in Little Mix and at first thought she was just uneducated but there's a difference between being uneducated and not wanting to learn or caring about others....and well, she's falling into the latter category for me right now

I’m so surprised to see how much it’s taking off! Number one in USA, wow!
Is it doing anything on US apple music?

Apple Music

#17 United Kingdom

#24 Ireland

#33 Dominica

#74 Malta

#77 Cyprus

It will be interesting to see her spotify debut tomorrow, what are we all expecting, I'm thinking around #6 just out of curiosity at least.

The chorus/production is fire. Nicki's verse is really good too. The only thing I don't like are Jesy's verses, I can't understand her that well on them.

I feel like I can on the first verse, but second verse... absolutely no idea. :???:

I really like Nicki's feature on this though. She's always been one of my fave rappers, but I find it incredibly difficult to support anything she's attached to nowadays due to her being such a horrendous human being. One of my fave rappers but ughhhhhh... I wish she was a better human </3

yeah I feel the exact same, between Nicki and the whole blackfishing/cultural appropriation i'm finding it hard to support this :/

in terms of the song, it's fine. it's catchy and I can definitely see it growing on me but some of the lyrics are a choice

I just gave it another listen in case my initial opinion was shit - but nope. Still absolute shit.

we hear you.

In Jesy's Hits Radio interview she said she's starting rehearsals next week for performances she's got lined up :cheeseblock:

She said she wants to go full on dancing with a Britney mic for some of the performances!

People are becoming more educated on the subject — especially after last summer. Ariana would absolutely get more heat with '7 Rings' if released today.

It's not just about how Jesy looks either — the video and lyrics are both littered with tropes. It's a massive yikes.

What’s going on?

That’s absolutely mad it’s hit #1 in the US.

Nicki is really pushing it though
