Hoping Heat Waves gets an insta-reset and thus a new peak on Friday!

How on earth did it randomly do a massive climb?

Two words. Starts with Tik and ends with Tok.

He did that with Bad Habits and given the gap by the end of the week, he didn't even need to.

No, nice that he is doing it though and not robbing fans by charging ludicrous prices for singles (£14.99 Spice Girls cassette single anyone? <_< )

Sheeran is clearly planning to keep replacing himself at #1 for months.

He knows ACR makes it difficult for him to ever beat Bryan Adams with a single song so he’s going to be the artist with the most consecutive weeks at #1 this way.

Don't they lose money with those 99p singles?

Yes but they still count as sales...

There are independent manufacturers offering 1 track CD singles for 18-22p so I’m sure Ed’s label can get them for a lot less than that. I doubt they are making much profit from them but I’d say they certainly are not losing anything.

wow didn't realise it was so cheap to make a cd :)
I love the 99p singles concept and would love to see more of it, i would pay up to £5 for these from acts i follow as i like having them.

I’m the same - it’s good to see artist like Ed, Dermot Kennedy, Years & Years etc., starting to release them and charging ‘normal’ prices

and would be even better if they added a b-side like in the old days
Can safely say that the next Ed Sheeran single will be #1 and knocking ‘Bad Habits’ off the top spot - 99p signed CD singles now available - https://store.edsheeran.com/uk/shivers-signed-cd.html

Awesome to hear, I know it's incredibly unlikely but I'm still hoping against hope that he'll manage to pull off a full 26 consecutive weeks at #1 :D

I'm guessing for that price the sleeves are the thin cardboard ones? In any case I hope they're not using plastic!

Please no, no and no again.

I'm really hoping Adele drops a surprise single on the 10th September just to block him.
