This is a topic about a question, I came and gave my answer/opinion, I didn't ask anyone's opinion about mine, just as I didn't opine about anyone's opinion here, so I ask you to respect my opinion and my freedom to say what I think. Otherwise, this topic is meaningless or purposeless.

Why are you getting this warped?

You made a point, someone disagreed, you said "I wasn't asking you", I said that they don't need you to ask them to reply to you. ;o

If you don't want people to respond to your posts - don't make them.

Done.

If you don't accept other answers or opinions other than what you expected, it'd be better if you hadn't even opened it, just sayin'

Tbh you only have to ask google who is the Queen of pop, it’s a clear answer

So ask google who the new queen of pop is :magic:

Stop acting like some marginalised, ostrasized, hard-done-by member of this community  You get away with SO MUCH (partly my lenient self's fault - but that can change!) so just have the decency to allow people to respond to your posts without having to be asked or invited to do so by you. If you make a post on this website, ANYONE can reply or respond to it. Them the rules, like them or lump them!

Do you ONLY respond to posts if they have a disclaimer at the bottom asking for opinions to be shared? NO you reply to anyone and everyone that you wish to, so others can do the same with you; it works both ways. If you don't like that, maybe open discussion forums are not the place to be navigating?

I do think Gaga is the natural person to take over in the future to be fair

I seen this tweet from Lizzo and was thinking hmm at some of the choices.

Madonna is definitely the Queen I’d say and I’d say globally she probably is seen as the Queen of Pop.

With Janet Jackson she was never (to my knowledge) culturally as huge as Madonna ever was. I know Janet was huge in the US but I unfortunately (I say that as it’s not something I think should be the case but just feel is) feel with Janet if you asked someone in the UK to name a Janet Jackson song many people would struggle to even name one of the top of their head. She’s probably known as Michael’s sister over here above anything from her her own career. Just look at her Glastonbury set the crowd were dead during it and most looked like they had no clue who she was definitely not a crowd watching the Queen of Pop.

Compare that to Madonna and pretty much everyone even people younger than me would know at least one song from her or would know her face or name. She’s undeniably the Queen. She’s had much more impact on a global scale and she’s pushed far more boundaries, has more controversies and has had more impact on popular music today than what any other woman has had.

As far as the UK goes I’d probably say Kylie Minogue is the next person in line after Madonna but she’s still quite a way ahead.

Gaga in the future will definitely be seen as a legend but I think she’s different to Madonna. Gagas career arc I think will be a bit more Cher / Streisand like than Madonna.

Why? Just because Madonna was never successful in Hollywood? It's not Gaga's fault.

Talent cannot be bought.

That's obvious and anyone who says otherwise is lying to themselves... Gaga was the one who made Madonna freak out and act like a teenager in front of the cameras, making those infamous statements about a young artist who had just gotten space in the industry (that was when Madonna lost almost all the respect I had for her).

You understood very well what I said, you expected obvious answers that were compatible with your opinion, but I am sorry to inform you, this forum is open to everyone and anyone can have an opinion, adverse to yours or not. Stop hallucinating changing the course and theme of the topic to attacks against me. If you have something against me or my conduct on the forum, come and talk to me directly through the dm, this is no place for scandals.

The question was whether Madonna is the queen of pop or not, and I don't think she is, I consider Gaga to be the queen of pop and that's my opinion, deal with it, period.

Why? Just because Madonna was never successful in Hollywood? It's not Gaga's fault.

Gaga will have longevity and will always be successful in whatever she does. She doesn’t even have to be a pop artist to be successful as she’s won GRAMMYs and Oscars for non pop music and she’s won awards for her acting too. Madonna’s the queen of pop but I think if Gaga was to ever have a title it would be a slightly different one as she’s that versatile it’s more than just pop she’s a success in.

I will however say I feel like Gaga is the only artist or one the only females Madonna has ever seen as a threat to her. Like with people like Britney Spears she’s always supported them and spoken highly of them but deep down Madonna sort of saw herself as being above them and not really a threat to her as she can do what they do better or has done what they’ve done better. When she seen Gaga come on the scene and seen she has more actual talent and is capable of practically everything she was low key worried which explains her behaviour towards her. Low key love the fact she turned up to Madonna’s with her academy award too

Madonna is a leech, she has already soaked up the fame of several artists, Gaga was the only one not to surrender to her, and that's why she got mad. Love them both tho.

I am sorry to inform you, this forum is open to everyone and anyone can have an opinion

Indeed, which means that spiceboy disagreeing with you is more than acceptable!

The entire thread is about whether people agree with the question that's been posed. You're of course entitled to think that the answer is no (which means you disagree with Haus and many others who've responded), so therefore others are fine to disagree with your feelings that it's Lady Gaga!

I don't remember quoting anyone saying "Madonna is not the queen but Gaga" like he did when he quoted me saying Madonna has a zillion years of career and remarkable achievements. Can you show me where I did it in this thread? Thanks.

If you share an opinion publicly on a forum, then that invites the possibility of people responding to you to say that they disagree with you, which is all spiceboy did! It's harmless and normal in a discussion, as long as things remain civil.

I'm not sure what point you're trying to make about quoting people. Didn't have to look far down your post history to find an example of you quoting somebody and disagreeing with them: http://www.buzzjack.com/forums/index.php?s...p;#entry6946779 Which is fine! So it was fine for spiceboy to do this with your post.

Receipts :selena:

Adelita your entire Buzzjack personality is quoting people and then disagreeing with them. That's perfectly fine - it's a discussion forum for a reason!

But then whenever one person quotes you and disagrees with you, you cry hail Mary and act like the entire world is against you and continue to reply in baiting and passive aggressive (or sometimes plain aggressive) ways  there is hypocrisy there!

Respond in a respectful way and discussion can continue and accept that people will quote and call you out on your opinions and challenge them like you do to everyone else~

Where does Beyoncé fall in this line of succession? She's essentially a monarch at this point.

Madonna was the Queen of Pop and for me, she will always be...

Gaga in 2008-10 had the potential to be, and then the wheels fell off and Artpop happened and then I realised that she would never be more than just a pale pastiche of our true Queen of Pop. To be the Queen of Pop you need to sustain global domination for many years, have huge originality, have a huge run of hit singles (and not just an initial splash), have run after run of huge world tours, become a global phenomenon, and stay that way. Culturally, Madonna has made the hugest impact and is still doing that (although perhaps not for all the right reasons these days).

There are successors out there, but high sales don't make a Queen of Pop; take note Ariana and Dua - it has to be something else. I think the only one who has come close, is Rhianna, certainly not Gaga. For me, she wouldn't even be a Princess of Pop!!! :-) As for Beyonce, I'm not a fan, but culturally she's def up there - but there's never been Beyonce Mania like there was for Madonna. I think the 'mania' is also key in those early years in establishing a reign.

By the way, I also don't think Gaga is even in the Top 10 of the World's greatest selling female artists of all time!

But Bad Habits has a weird performance and you don't have to be a hater to see it, and that's not related to this topic. I was clear but I will be again since you don't get it: Imagine if I were to quote everyone who said Madonna is the queen of pop on this topic, the mess I would create? Got the point now? Whether you got it or not I don't know but I was brief in what I said.

Gaga has everything you've said and more, she's the most global artist since Madonna and Michael. Your comment is the same as Gaga's haters in 2010 when they said she wasn't going anywhere, and look where she got to… Also, sales are not enough for you to be the queen of pop, you need to be talented and creative. These days, the only singer who would rival Gaga on stage in a vocal battle is Adele.

By the way, I also don't think Gaga is even in the Top 10 of the World's greatest selling female artists of all time!

Gaga is literally ninth on this link, I don't know what your point in trying to discredit her, you don't even check your sources right…
