Bré has it correct, I hadn't corrected for the ties - incidentally there were a lot of cruel moments in the semis that could have been (mostly) avoided by having 20 Qs from each.. x
August 31, 20213 yr Congrats Travis on the debut win <3 great to have 2 contests in a row with first time winners after such a long drought before that! In all honesty this song was veeery lucky to get through the veto so I have slightly mixed feelings on it ending up winning oops but at the end of the day it did get through and it's a great song so I cannot complain! Allie X officially becoming the first artist to win BJSC for 2 different people (following Sheelah and TR/ST both being double winners but with both of their winners sent by the same country). I was all ready to make a clever post about Leww's influence already rubbing off on Klum with him winning this month :kink: oof at yet another 2nd place with still no win yet, surely it has to come one of these days! Still happy to see it doing so well, then Burbia & Kathaldazia completing a top 4 which all received points from me! St. Burbia really went over 5 years without ever finishing in the top 5 and then got 1st and 3rd back to back :cheeseblock: + definitely did not expect SWIM to do anywhere near that well but it was a big favourite for me so great to see! Also excellent to see Caerfyrddia and Niceland both surpassing my expectations to finish in the top 10 as well :heart: and some decent results in the top 20/midtable range for Trifoski, N DNTN (especially after them only barely qualifying!), Thelonia, Terra Avium, Utopia and Cumulonimbia! I think that only leaves Aelandor as one that's done a bit less well than I was hoping/expecting but at least it was still well clear of the bottom few. 25th is a little lower than I hoped for myself as well but ah well, achieved a good improvement on last month at least (and I see I was pretty lucky to get through the semi so 25th from that was a decent showing!), thanks to those who voted for our car alarm song, especially Jade, Kath and RFC for the 18s again <3 not quite sure what direction I'll be going in next month, I still have one potential left from the list I put together a few months ago (after offloading another one off that list to Unknown Pleasures) but not certain that I still want to send it so I might need to get searching again. Thanks Doctor Blind for an excellent first time hosting (the system of passing on hosting rights to the highest placing countries who haven't hosted before continuing to come through with some great and inspired host nations), I hope it won't be the last!

None of the top 7 of semi-final 2 finishing in the final top 10, plus the winner of semi 1 also missing it :cheeseblock: (and Dobago beating Klum Rep in the semi before proceeding to come dead last in the final while Klum Rep came 2nd!!) Caerfyrddia also pulling off quite a huge increase from the semi to the final. Has to be one of the most disagreeing sets of semi results we've ever seen :lol: (I'm sure I can pull some spreadsheet magic to check the average difference between projected and final positions to verify that, when I can be bothered)

Great to see Caerfyrddia in the top 10 too, awesome track. Amazed that I was very right about semi 2 and Flynnonda and Taahino demolished it, I thought I was projecting a little bit with how they were clearly the two standouts in that semi but I was always confident on them getting through

Well done Trav :wub: Not a bad end result at all but definitely one of the weakest contest's I think we've had for a while, it was too dance/electronic-y(?)/instrumental-y for my liking but I guess if that's your predominant taste then it's a dream contest :lol: Super happy to be able to support my faves Hot Milk tho, they're my next gig and first gig post lockdowns so I'm buzzing for that!! Every one has to send something in the pop/rock realm next month tho, I'm manifesting it into existence.

September 1, 20213 yr Ecstatic with 4th! Did not see that coming at all. Thanks guys <3 When I first added the song to my playlist, I actually never considered it for BJSC but it grew on me so much! I was like, wtf I must enter this! :w00t: A nice and varied top 10 overall and as others have said, a really strong contest for electronic and dance music :wub: I've loved Breathing for a while now so happy to see that surprise and finish 2nd. Would have liked to see Persephonia, Utopia and Cumulonimbia finish higher, but at least they avoided bottom 10! Well done Doctor Blind on this hosting masterclass and congrats Travis :party:
