Kworb's Apple Music chart seems to be glitching at the moment (in the UK anyway) with none of the new releases appearing. I did find a different website a while ago which has the UK Apple top 100 though and it seems to be less prone to glitches than Kworb - per that, Drake now has all of his album in the top 30, having every position in the top 27 except #10, #13, #20, #22, #24 and #25. Are people still sure he's not going to get enough streams to beat Iron Maiden to #1 xx (I guess Spotify tomorrow will be a better indication but I still feel like he is going to pull it off, unless Iron Maiden somehow increase their sales from last time).

 

ABBA are at 38 & 45 and Little Mix at 94. Kworb does seem to be working as normal for the US Apple chart where unsurprisingly Drake is pretty close to already having the entire top 21, only Kanye's 'Hurricane' at #18 preventing it right now.

 

Regarding ABBA's Spotify debut, I believe the Spotify tracking period is not exactly midnight to midnight (a couple of Dave's album tracks debuted low down a day earlier than they should have if that was the case) so it'll be a little more than 6 hours of streams but to be fair I'm not sure too many of those streams will have come after midnight anyway - not taking away from what is still a pretty good debut.

I still find it bizarre that the comeback for such a major act after almost four decades of anticipation gets #11 on Spotify's list of the hottest new tracks of the week. Below erm... some pretty random shit. Ok then Spotify, you do you hun.

 

(I know ABBA have obviously got plenty of promotion elsewhere regardless and it's not really important just very odd)

Very unlikely the whole album would be that high simply because of how many tracks there are, for reference 'Scorpion' had 12/25 tracks do 500k+ on day 1 with its lowest track doing 255k. Although of course as far as album streaming sales go in the UK charts the streams of everything below the 12th track are irrelevant. It is a marginally less bloated album this time - a mere 21 tracks rather than 25 :lol: - which might work to his benefit in the UK.

 

The top track from 'Scorpion' on day 1 did 852k so I wouldn't expect anything from this album to top 1 million but who knows especially after how rapidly he completely dominated Apple. Maybe having no singles ahead of the album might have actually been a good move as it means people didn't have the chance to realise in advance that it was just going to be another standard Drake album and lose hype for it xx

Fun fact: 'Champagne Poetry' (track 1 on the Drake album, currently #2 on Apple Music) has John Lennon and Paul McCartney in the songwriting credits due to it sampling Masego's 'Navajo' which in turn samples The Beatles' 'Michelle'. So if that remains in Drake's 3 chart eligible songs all week (unsure if it will as it is 5 and a half minutes long so can see it being overtaken later in the week by more 'accessible' songs) we'll have not only new ABBA in the charts this week but also new Lennon-McCartney sort of. :lol:
