Finding this really difficult to process :( Girls Aloud were one of the very first musical acts that I was obsessed with. I remember getting into them through 'No Good Advice' (a few years after it actually came out!) and being a hardcore fan during the Sound of/Tangled Up/Out of Control eras. I was very LOUD about it too, back when you were able to make your own website via Piczo I used to have the 'Wake Me Up' video autoplaying on mine, plus begged my friends to perform with me as Girls Aloud singing a rendition of 'Love Machine'. Parties were soundtracked with 'Sound of...', countless hours were spent playing the games on their website, many discussions were had about their music to anyone who would listen... as I get older Girls Aloud's music is still always part of my potential line-up when needing a pick-me-up. Just a few weeks ago I hyped myself up to go back to the office (I was feeling a bit nervous after being in the Work From Home bubble for so long now) by listening to the electric 'Sexy! No No No...' <3 LOVE Sarah's "Ain't no damn reason you'll be leaving my side" part in that song, by the way. She was a total star and I enjoyed whenever her voice got the chance to shine, it had a really cool rock kind of edge to it. The clips on social media highlighting some of her best vocal moments were such a warm reminder. She always came across so well in interviews and I've been so happy for her when she's been showered with love, whether that's topping the voting in CBB or moments in the past year like the iTunes #1 and flurries of well-wishes. This is so tragic and unfair </3 devastated for everyone around her and as a fan I'm really sad that I never got the chance to see her live, I didn't get into concert going until I was an adult - was still only 15 during the 'Ten' tour :( rest in peace Sarah, what a legacy she leaves behind!

The passing of Sarah at the young age of 39 is extremely hard to process.

It is an extremely difficult time for her family, my heart goes out to them.

Rest in Peace,Sarah.

I was very sad to hear of her passing away yesterday and this celebrity death has hit me harder than any other like many have said. Like nost people here I grew up with Girls Aloud all through my childhood and teenage years. To think someone I grew up hearing and seeing is no longer with us is extremely surreal and she was so young as well.

It still all feels so quick from finding out about her diagnosis to now. When she first revealed she had cancer I thought with treatment she would be okay. I was shocked when she said the cancer was terminal and although we knew this would eventually come I still hoped somehow she would live longer than the doctors predicted. It really is a horrible illness and I'm glad she is no longer suffering now. I'm also glad she knew how much she cared for by fans who were able to bring her some happiness and comfort. Rest in peace Sarah and condolences to her her family and friends.

This still feels horribly surreal :(

Somebody posted this picture on another forum, saying it's how they'd like to remember her  Makes my heart ache but it's such a happy image, better times

The stunning picture of Sarah on the main forum banner is a beautifu touch on the site.

I hope ITV or some mainstream channel air a full tribute programme for Sarah.
I'd be fully expecting that to happen in the next couple of months and it would be nice if the rest of girls Aloud are involved.
I know it's not important in the grand scheme of things but I am surprised not a single song of theirs is doing well on Spotify.

They had about 20 hit singles so I guess it's just a case of everyone listening to them as a collection instead of looking out for and streaming one song.

I thought this too.

I guess with Spotify it's too much of a mountain to climb for them to get 50,000+ UK listens in a day for any of their songs, sadly that's above and beyond what they'd manage typically.

Its disappointing about streaming but not surprising, most of the fans have everything on cd etc and they prob are listening to albums such as Ten.

That's what I think as well, their monthly average listeners has grown with around 100,000 in the last two days so people have definitely been streaming them more but it's not focused on one particular song.

Newsbeat tribute from the other day, from about 11:10 in the programme, Miranda Cooper and Brian Higgins (Xenomania) share their memories of Sarah.

I listened to this on Monday whilst working from home and bawled my eyes out. Out of all the media tributes that have done the rounds this was the most thoughtful and well put together. Lovely to hear Brian and Miranda speaking as well.
