Arent they not promoting due to having children and the likes?

Yeah think they will be too busy with the new babies to do a huge amount of promotion for a greatest hits album.

I’m starting to think that Taylor might have more chance of starting as the highest debut album. I’m just not sure she’ll get higher than Abba or Ed. But you can never underestimate her selling power…
I don't see Taylor being a contender for the top spot in all honesty

Yeah I just don’t see it either. It’ll do better than Fearless for a number of factors but I just don’t see it competing with Rod, Ed, ABBA etc.

Not that I expect them to compete for the top either but I think people are forgetting about IDLES when making their Top 10 predictions. Their album sold 27k last year so could achieve similar numbers.

Taylor selling seemingly unlimited signed CDs in the UK means they almost certainly won't be signed by her doesn't it?
With ABBA now on track to do 200k this week I can’t see them not holding the top spot for a second week now tbh.

It’s usually the US and Canada that get an unlimited supply, however this time they sold out immediately and she/her team have switched their attention to the UK market.

All her other releases have been signed by her and I’m sure this will be no different apart from the fact they are chasing the UK sales and charts this time.

Do these artists really sit and sign each individual CD/LP or is it just a copy of their signature? I'd say the latter but stand to be corrected.

This album is not going to do as well as a normal Bruno album, it is a side project (I hope it is not controversial for me to say that about this album xx) and the singles haven't made that much noise here. The hype around it is returning a little bit with the latest single but I still think they should have just dropped it when 'Leave The Door Open' was still popular (especially in the US).

Music lovers and people who on forums etc will see Silk Sonic and know it’s a Bruno album but his mum like fanbase (he does have huge popularity with that demographic) won’t have a clue about this album. If it was listed as say Bruno Mars and Anderson Paak maybe having their artist names on the release may have made a slight difference but the name Silk Sonic in the UK will be something a lot of people may not necessarily be aware of.

I mean this is very different but P!nk released an album under a different name and her power didn’t bring that to be a success (it was released as you+me) I believe but it wasn’t as radio friendly as this release to my knowledge. But it may have had a better chance if they released it under their artist names (sort of like the Tony Bennett and Lady Gaga albums).

isn't it being credited as "Silk Sonic – Bruno Mars & Anderson .Paak" ??

We’ll see how it does but I don’t see it completely smashing like Bruno’s solo albums did I’d totally be here for it to smash though and give Anderson a real UK career too but suspect it’s US success will be greater than it’s UK success.

On a less quiet week it might’ve went top 3 but the week of release it’s going against a strong set of albums.

In the US I’m guessing it’ll be #2 behind Taylor?
