So someone on their stylist team is on Twitter saying the girls didn't know she was leaving and Jesy blocked them on Whatsapp and had a go at them and didn't congratulate them on their pregnancies etc. It's all spilling out now.

I'm not really surprised if they didn't know - unfortunately, in these situations various contracts and legal commitments have to be sorted first. Of course it's a bit of a coward move to block them on WhatsApp, but maybe she felt like she didn't want to risk being pulled in again?

Of course, I'm sure they just hit their boiling point when she tried to act like they were the ones who ignored her. I'm sure there's a lot of pent up frustration with her and the whole blackfishing drama happening soon after Leigh-Anne's documentary probably didn't endear her to them.

This definitely feels like we’re moving past holding Jesy accountable for black fishing, into vilifying her for everything without having a balanced understanding of what actually went on. I can’t say I’m here for that really.

I couldn't agree more, it really does seem like people are trying to paint her as a villain. Sure dislike her and hold her accountable for black fishing but it does feel like people are just hating on her for just existing. It's kind of sad how some of the fans have turned into the trolls (not directing this about anyone here but from what I see online). I think people need to remember she's a person too, just like us (this goes for anyone attacking Leigh, Jade or Perrie too).

I'd like to hear from Jesy, Leigh, Jade and Perrie not these other people getting themselves involved.

It does seem like people are trying to start some smear campaign against Jesy.

To be BRUTALLY fair, wasn't that Glamour interview earlier this year after Jesy had already left the group? It's possible she didn't want to talk about it too much or get into detail because her relationship with the girls was awkward/icy and didn't feel like it was appropriate to talk about Leigh's feelings like that publicly?

(but yeah, it is sad seeing the other 3 so supportive of her in Odd One Out which was only filmed 2 years ago. I mean Perrie and Jade were literally in tears for her.)

She looks the exact same there as she does now, so I can’t help but wonder why wasn’t rushing to cancel her for blackfishing whilst she was still in the band? She was arguably the most popular member at this point with her documentary etc and Rita and Ariana were being called out too so it’s not like people didn’t know about it.

I get the whole Boyz thing and video has exacerbated the situation but people were gunning her before the announcement, and I personally feel like a lot of it is because they resent her for leaving the band and starting a solo career.

From what I remember people did call her out on this previously, especially black fans. You have to keep in mind that for a pop group like Little Mix their demographic screws really young and really white, so it's hard to be as loud when you're the minority. I think we live in a bit of a bubble being on a pop forum that definitely doesn't represent the general public. I'm sure some people are calling her out performatively now, but it's not the first time she's been called out on this. She had to delete a picture of her in dreads from a couple of years ago because of how much shit she was getting for it!

To be honest I was referring to this forum more than anything, I just find it jarring to hear everyone slate her yet this time last year they adored her - I just had a wee look at the forum history and couldn’t find any concerns from fans, not even when the subject of racism was brought up in reference to Leigh’s Instagram post last year yet now Jesy is being dragged to the high heavens at every opportunity.

I appreciate that she should be held accountable for how she’s behaved and have always said that, so I’m not just a blind stan but a lot of the (in my opinion) performative outrage is uncomfortable to read.

Yeah it's funny people suddenly have an issue despite never or barely ever saying anything before but suddenly now she's solo everyone is gunning for her.

She's looked like this for so long and as I've said before i'm a POC and I don't find Jesy offensive, just a typical overly tanned brit, she looks like any other social media influencer/reality star that tans and wears wigs.

But I appreciate others may feel different, it's just odd some people were not so vocal before (or at all).

People are more aware of blackfishing and more educated within recents years, i certainly am. Anybody who was to do it noww would be called out, its her attitude towards it that’s even more ignorant and blocking peoples who try to educate her.

Jesy didn’t mention the blm, or even supported leigh during her documentary i’m sure leigh anne has mentioned this in several occasions and this is why there is beef.

With all due respect this is not true at all, at least for me.

I'll be honest, I was the biggest fan of Jesy's, absolutely stanned her from X Factor all up until more recently and I'm not mad if she wants to go solo, it happens. I, hand on heart, didn't know she was Caucasian until maybe start of this year or something and was really taken aback. As others have said what really irks me is her unapologetic attitude to blackfishing accusations, her appropriating the culture and just not caring or showing a OUNCE of remorse. I can't support someone like that personally

Regarding her relationships with the girls, I do agree, we don't know what fully went on and what sort of comments were made internally. I don't see it necessary to really take a wide based on....not really much to be honest! I really hope she just takes some ownership and can take all of this on considering her issues with her mental health and someone close to her can educate her and give her the tough love she needs

I agree with you, she really needs someone close to her to talk to her and educate her as to why some people may feel a certain way. I feel like she really needs to hear it at this stage.

I don't think she gets it, I think this is really layered with her own issues with her own appearance. Hopefully she takes some things on board.

It's sad seeing the fanbase at loggerheads.

But we’re not talking about years ago though, Jesy has maintained a consistent aesthetic for years which has never really been called out on a large scale until she left the band. She’s had people call her out on occasion but to me it has been exacerbated ever since she left the band. The lines are now blurring and we’re mixing he said she said gossip with the actual serious topic of racism which makes me question how genuine the outrage on some peoples part has been.

Jesy has already left the band (and we know it was not under the best circumstances) at the time Leigh dropped her documentary so is it that surprising that she didn’t big it up?

People have been infinitely more open to educating themselves on various issues since the Black Lives Matter protests last summer. Times change.

Blackfishing actually getting mainstream traction is a good thing rather than it being stuck on Black Twitter for years.

I had very little knowledge of blackfishing a few years back (still educating myself) and I assume given that this and BLM have been at the forefront of conversations over the last 18 months more people have woken up to it.

Of course we were sad when she left the band, and then we came to terms with it and were relatively excited for what was to come.

It doesn’t mean we can’t see when something is wrong and needs to be called out though.

I get this but I don’t get why the people accusing her, Leigh and her sister aren’t showing this same energy to people they are friends with, for instance Gabrielle, Leigh-Anne’s friend and business partner who is overly tanned and wears wigs too. I think apply the same rules to everyone and not pick and choose who you have an issue with based on whether you get on or not. They’ve literally been liking her very recent pictures where she is darker than them ‘blackfishing’ but there’s no issue with them?

I’d be more supportive of Leigh if she was being like this with everyone who was ‘blackfishing’, it just isn’t making sense for me and seems hypocritical. I’m a POC and if I truly believed Jesy was blackfishing, I’d look at that Gabrielle and clearly think the same…so I’d treat them the same.
