Brilliant episode. Perfect challenge, amazing runway theme, fantastic guests! The right winners and the correct bottom 2.

 

Don’t quite agree with the double shontay as I think Charity was leagues ahead of Scarlett but whatever

Sadly this season continues to disappoint me.

 

Don’t think I would ever listen to either of the track again, but it’s clear the slower group were far more cohesive. Definitely a big comedown after the amazing girl groups challenges of S1 and S2.

 

Also very confused by the double shantay - Charity clearly gave more than Scarlett in the lip sync who should have went home sadly, as much as I do enjoy Scarlett. She dropped the ball tonight on the challenge, her look and then the lip sync.

 

I worry with Charity underperforming and Victoria injured, this season is lacking any stand out stars. I guess I’ll be supporting Kitty despite her below average runways.

I really enjoyed the episode. The uptempo version of the song was really catchy, shame the winning group didn't get to do the uptempo version too. Although the song wasn't as good as "Break Up (Bye Bye)" or "Bing Bang Bong".

 

I thought the judging was really on point for once! The only thing I disagreed with was Scarlett staying. I thought Charity was the clear winner in the lip sync. Scarlett looked rather defeated at times.

 

I have to say River looked the best I think she's looked so far in the girl group challenge! I loved her outfit.

 

I'm warming to quite a few of the queens now. Next week's episode looks really fun/manic. :lol:

Definitely the best episode so far this series and I feel like I'm really starting to like a lot of the cast. The right team won and I was really rooting for them - the song's not as good as the last couple of winners but I enjoyed the downtempo version much more than I thought. I think it helps that it stood out, whereas the Slice Girls version felt like a less good version of UK Hun and Break Up Bye Bye.

 

The critiques for Charity felt harsh and it seemed like she got worse critique than Scarlett who forgot her words and was easily the worst in the performance. The lip-sync wasn't really anything special either BUT overall they're possibly my top 2 so I'm glad they're both still in :lol:

 

River's emotional moments were very touching :heart: and I think if I were to pick an overall individual winner for the week, Choriza really brought it :cheeseblock:

I just love River (also she loves Doctor Who and especially the Matt Smith era - Queen after my heart).

 

 

Yeah, the girl group song wasn’t as immediately catchy as the last UK ones, still better than anything US Girl Groups has done since probably AS3.

I kinda think this was the best episode of the season but it was still kinda bad?

 

Neither of the groups did particularly well. The judging of the groups was bad. Charity was imo robbed and Scarlett given a pass for basically no reason.

 

Was nice to see Steps & the werkroom convo was pretty good although River saying her life's ambition was to be on drag race felt a bit forced.

This was definitely the best episode of the season so far, really enjoyed myself watching! It was lovely to see Steps being so involved (they are so sweet, aren't they!) and Emma was a great guest judge. And of course I am going to LOVE a Spice Girls related runway.

 

Whilst the song was no UK Hun? (obviously), I still really liked it, especially the mid-tempo one. It's so cheesy and exactly what I want from them. Adding a key change at the end only made it better and I'm sure I'll stream it quite a bit in the coming days. Pick 'n Mix was definitely the better group, with Ella being the stand-out although hats off to Kitty in the other group as well. She was really living her live and did a fantastic job!

 

The double shantay felt a bit strange and forced, I like Scarlett but Charity beat her in the challenge, the runway AND the lip sync?? I really don't like the critism Charity gets. Her outift was fantastic and, in my opinion, a very creative tribute to Scary Spice. A lot better than the more expected other two.

Bring back MNEK. I’m guessing because this season was rushed they didn’t have time to book / give him the time to edit? I hope this is the case anyway!

 

But if a let down. I loved Charity’s runway and I feel the judges saying it ‘had to be spice girls’ was a bit cheap? Like no?!

The judges treatment of Charity is really marring the series for me, they seem to just not give her any credit for anything she does purely because they’ve set a certain box for the type of queens they want and she doesn’t fit that. I get that for a group challenge, she didn’t fit her group, but she was one of the few that was memorable across both songs. I like that even though she had the easy uptempo version, she didn’t do the generic girl group performance and brought her own thing. Plus I thought she had easily the best runway, she used the token Mel B leopard print and did her own thing with it, I’d so much rather that than somebody just dressed as a Spice Girl. I fail to see how a runway actually being creative is a negative but they just appear to not like whatever Charity does unfortunately.

 

If I was judging individually, I’d have argued Ella should have been bottom… Nobody was actually BAD per se, other than Scarlett as she messed up her lip sync. Ella I feel did pretty much the bare minimum and simultaneously tried too hard and gave nothing? :lol: Her runway was one of the better ones though, I’m astounded as to how Kitty wasn’t read for that outfit that looked like it came from one of those pop up costume shops on clearance… That’s 3/4 episodes I’ve put her in the bottom 3 now! I can’t take to her either, she feels to me like someone put Baga Chipz and Cheryl Hole into a machine to create a perfect gay Twitter fave, and I just don’t buy it.

WIN River

High Choriza, Charity

Safe Krystal, Vanity

Low Kitty

Bottom 2: Ella, Scarlett

Also that double shanty was a huuuuge stretch, Charity did miles better and whilst I didn’t want to lose Scarlett yet either, this was not her week and based on how she messed up with what was presented, it would have been fair had she gone. Seeing as Victoria left last week, I feel it should have been last week it happened plus that lip sync deserved it more. But I suppose the girl groups being what feels like the signature UK challenge, they wanted to have it here instead.

yea i feel like the double shantay was less because of the lipsync and more about it not being scarlett's time to go.

 

i thought ella was so perfectly cheesy in the performance!! she channelled it much more than the other three for me (though feel like they edited out river a lot so we didn't see her doing well :/). kitty is lovely and proving herself to be a performer, even if her runways aren't up to scratch. if the worst we can throw at her is that she is too perfectly likeable then she's not doing too badly! lol

 

everyone was great this week, so even though i love them both i feel the judging was spot on.

This was my favourite Drag Rave episode ever!!! I mean steps and spice girls my two obsessions 😍😍😍!

 

I thought the slower song version was amazing I loved the lyrics in their individual verses especially Chorizo and Vanity and then I thought Ella was perfect as that cheesy girl band with her simpering throughout it all sadly didn’t see much of a River in it (feel like they are trying not to make River happen which is sad as I think River is strong).

 

Then the individual spice girls looks aaaah I was dying!!! Ella smashed that totally as did River they were both incredible. Also though Chorizo’s version of Geri’s Union Jack was basically what Geri should have worn on the return tour over her huge can’t dance in it (can’t dance anyway lol) royal regal thing!

 

I’ve downloaded the song, this and U.K. Hun are total bops.

 

Felt Scarlett should have gone though she was so weak this episode, if they couldn’t save Veronica the previous week then Scarlett certainly shouldn’t have been saved.
